Like many who have waved off kids into<br />
adulthood, me and the wife have become<br />
accustomed to nipping off for a European<br />
city break. So far though, <strong>2020</strong> has been a flightfree<br />
year.<br />
We saw in the New Year in the Peak District, enjoyed<br />
a minibreak in Ireland recently, and with trips to<br />
the Highlands and to Wales scheduled for summer,<br />
<strong>2020</strong> will be the first time we’ve holidayed in all four<br />
home nations in a single year.<br />
With the notable exception of LJLA, I hate airports<br />
with a passion anyway and the thought of flying in<br />
a metal tube with a few hundred other souls isn’t an<br />
attractive one right now.<br />
And whilst swapping the sun-kissed beaches of<br />
the Med for windswept beaches of mid-Wales,<br />
and forgoing cocktails in the Caribbean for the<br />
distilleries of the Highlands might not be to<br />
everyone’s taste, we’re going to give it our best<br />
shot! See you there?<br />
