Another month has flown
by, and so far the weather
hasn’t been anything to
complain about. I continue to
get out each morning and put
some miles under my feet,
something I want to continue
doing each day. In January,
I covered one hundred
sixty-five miles of running
and walking. Far more than
I anticipated when I started.
Getting that fresh air each
morning feels good.
Everyone is encouraged
to donate blood a couple of
times a year. The Hoxworth
website has a schedule of
blood drives being held in
our area. Only twenty minutes
are needed to donate a
pint of blood, and you will
be helping someone in need.
I recently gave my thirtyseventh
gallon. Check out
Hoxworth and be one of
those who will help somebody
in need.
A Quilt of Valor was presented
to Richard Pavey,

a Korean
War Purple
Heart
Recipient.
He was also
presented a
medal from
the Korean
Embassy in
Washington,
DC, for
being a man who answered
the call to serve and protect
the Korean people and secure
their freedoms. Rich is a
Fourth Degree member of the
Knights of Columbus (K of
C). Fellow members from the
K of C, Irv Hartman, Mac
McGranahan, Jim Hamill,
and Paul Kinghorn, helped
with the presentation. Sheila
Stevenson, representing
Rivertown Quilters, presented
a beautiful Quilt of Valor
to Rich with the help of
Jerry Bondurant, Ron
Spurlock, and myself.
Communities
Rhonda Stinson presented
two lap quilts from the Chicks
With Attitude Quilters. Walter
Spurgeon, served in the
Army from
1954-57. He
was also a
disc jockey
on WOBO
Radio in
Cincinnati
at 88.7 on
the dial.

Nessie Hildebrand. Nessie is
one sweet
lady. She
faithfully
attends
programs
sponsored
by the
Lawrenceburg
Library
Nessie Hildebrand and is a joy
to be with.
