For the fifth straight year, Francesca’s
was named Best Italian Restaurant in the
2020 22nd Century Media Southwest
Choice Awards. With 18 locations, locally
Francesca’s operates Francesca’s Vicinato
in Palos Park and Francesca’s Fortunato
in Frankfort.
Francesca’s Vicinato is the 12th restaurant
in “The Family of Francesca Restaurants”
while Francesca’s Fortunato is the
13th restaurant.
Both restaurants offer a contemporary,
casually sophisticated trattoria ambiance,
good, simple cooking, friendly service and
fair prices. The menu features the zesty
earthy cuisine of Rome and the surrounding
areas of Tuscany, Umbria and Lazio.
The menus change almost daily, but
they always offer a tempting selection
of appetizers, salads, pasta dishes, fresh

Celebrating six decades of business
in 2019, Schaaf Window Company,
18445 Thompson Court in Tinley Park,
has proven over and over to be a wellrespected
provider of quality products.
“Celebrating 60 years is a good feeling,”
said Bob Schaaf Jr., the marketing
director and inside salesman at Schaaf
Window Company. “It means a lot to
us to know we are trusted by people in
the community. When people are building
houses or homeowners are doing replacement
projects, they know they can
trust us and know we will be honest. We
get a lot of referrals and repeat customers
because of that.”
Fred Schaaf and his son, George Sr.,
began the family-owned business in
1959 outside of the family garage, calling
it Schaaf Glass. Throughout the 60
years, the business has remained family-owned,
and that has been key to its
success.
“It is important to keep the business
in the family because people know us
and a lot of our employees have been
here for a long time,” Bob Schaaf said.
“It is always the same people that work
here and that is how we get a lot of our
business, because the customers know
us.”
The business started exclusively as
a union glazing contractor for residential
construction, but soon the needs for
Schaaf’s expertise grew and services
were expanded.
Today, Schaaf Window Company
still offers glazing, but now also offers
exterior doors and windows for new
construction, as well as replacements,
shower doors, molding, millwork and
more.
While Schaaf Window Company
receives a lot of its business from contractors
and builders who are working
on new construction, window replacements
for homeowners is one of its fastest
growing areas of the business right
now, Bob Schaaf said.
Schaaf Window Company offers
its clients the opportunity to visit its
4,000-square-foot showroom in Tinley
Park to help make their selection process
easier.
“Most of what we offer is available
to view in the showroom,” Bob Schaaf
said. “It is important to maintain a
showroom because people want to see
what they are getting for their house.
Some people who are building a new
house come in with their builder to pick
things out, or homeowners who are
making replacements come in to compare
products.”
Schaaf Window Company takes a lot
of pride in its high-quality offerings.
“We make sure our suppliers have
high-quality products that our customers
can trust at a reasonable price
point,” Bob Schaaf said.
While Schaaf Window Company is
headquartered in Tinley Park, it serves
the southwest and western suburbs of
Chicago, all the way to the boarders of
Wisconsin, Michigan and Indiana.
And the consistent expansion isn’t
just because of Schaaf’s quality products.
“We hear from people that they like
the way we take care of them, and we
treat them like a priority and don’t pressure
them into anything,” Bob Schaaf
said.
