TAREK MOMEN WINS
TROILUS CANADA CUP
TAREKMOMEN

World Champion Tarek Momen made it back-to-back wins over Paul
Coll to capture the Troilus Gold Canada Cup in Toronto. The Egyptian
overcame the Kiwi in straight games to win the PSA Men’s World
Championship in Qatar in November and repeated the feat in Canada to
claim his eighth PSA World Tour title.
A rematch of the PSA Men’s World
Championship final was eagerly
anticipated after both players showed
impressive form through the earlier
rounds.
Whilst Coll recorded straight game
victories over Nicolas Mueller, Daryl
Selby and Mathieu Castagnet during his
earlier matches, Momen navigated past
Greg Lobban and Cesar Salazar without
dropping a game before being extended
to five games by Diego Elias in a tight
semi-final.
However, showing no signs of fatigue
from his gruelling semi-final, Momen
claimed his second PSA World Tour title
win of the season, and his first in 2020
after losing out to Mohamed ElShorbagy
in the final of January’s J.P. Morgan
Tournament of Champions, by defeating
Coll 15-13 11-5 11-8 in 53 minutes.
