Outsideof the home, we believe children are best protected fromtoxic stress in loving school environments. In the MiddleEast, we launch and sustain schools that help Jewish,Christian, and Muslim children overcome stress-inducedlearning obstacles.In 2019, reGeneration partnered with House of Hope schoolin Area C of the West Bank. reGeneration Education fullyfunded 20 scholarships for low income House of Hopestudents and, in keeping with our legacy of investing inemerging Middle Eastern Waldorf teachers, a two-yearscholarship for House of Hope's Educational Director toearn a Bachelor of Education at David Yellin AcademicCollege Waldorf program.Narineh (above) is a 6 year old kindergartner at House of Hopeschool in the West Bank. Thanks to reGeneration's investment,Narineh has access to therapeutic early education..Soon after entering into partnership with reGeneration, thePalestinian Authority Ministry of Education recognizedHouse of Hope as the first and only Arabic-languageWaldorf kindergarten in the West Bank.In neighboring Israel, where Jews, Palestinians, and Arabslive in fear, separation, and violence, we work hard to fosterinclusion and equality through trauma-informed andbilingual education.Tamrat El Zeitoun, located in the northern town ofShfar’am, is the only Arabic language Waldorf school inIsrael. With reGeneration, school leaders are designing afive year plan to implement trauma-informed teachingmethods that give educators helpful, culturally competenttools for working with youth experiencing stress.At reGeneration's network of bilingual Waldorfkindergartens, we continue to build partnership between allcitizens of Israel and bridge gaps in educational equity. . TRAINING CRISIS-ZONEREADY TEACHERSIn 2019, reGeneration made history by unitingprofessors at David Yellin Academic College inIsrael with Palestinian educators in the WestBank. Together, they designed a cross-borderteacher training for communities lacking accessto culturally competent and trauma-informedteaching styles.reGeneration also worked to cross-pollinateteaching best practices around the globe. In LosAngeles, reGeneration is implementing theUnited Nations endorsed Essence of Learningtraining program. Essence of Learning trainsteachers who work with students growing up incrisis zones.
