where they are visible and must be stored out of view.

vandals, as this costs the community money for repairs.

RECURRING EVENTS: YARD OF THE MONTH
The Yard of the Month contest will be starting in April 2020 through August 2020. We
will also be judging during our Halloween and Holiday Décor. Thanks for making our

Reservations at their convenience as bookings will be strictly made online.

• A Dog Park is being considered as an amenity for Lakemont Residents and we would

• Please remember to always have your pets on a leash, as there is Leash Law in place

• HOA meetings are held at the lake house, located by pool 1 at 5:30 PM.
• Lake House Rental - must be a Lakemont resident, must be current in yearly
assessments, must submit payment and application to secure the date. We are on a first
come first serve basis, residents must submit the rental application and a refundable
$200 deposit and a $170 usage fee, only payable by check or money order.
• Lakemont Patrol - Residents who will be out of town for the summer can send their
property information to lakemontwatch@yahoo.com, where on-site patrol will be able
to keep a watch on the vacant home.
• Lakemont Community Association is a single family residential home community.

LAKEMONT’S ROOFING GUIDELINES:
Per ARC Guidelines - Article IX, Section 24:
Roofing materials may include composition shingles, slate,
clay or concrete tile. Composition shingles must have a
minimum warranty period of 25 years. Composition shingle
roofs must be comparable in color to weathered wood
shingles and comparable in surface textural appearance to
wood shingles.

uncomfortable, please call or text a family member or

the streets, don’t ignore it. Call the non-emergency number or the roving
police at 832-719-1047. The number for the Ft. Bend Sheriff can be
reached at 281-341-4665. It is always better to be safe than sorry. Our
police are here to keep our community safe and they need our help to
notify them when something is wrong.

We love our pets at Lakemont, but please be sure to keep them leashed.
Some dogs are nervous or skittish when approached by other dogs.
Children are often frightened of dogs that are not leashed. Even if you
have the friendliest dog in Lakemont, please keep them on a leash when
you’re out in common areas.
Please be sure to clean up after your dogs. Excrement is unsightly and a
health hazard.
Dogs should have shelter and plenty of water when they are outside.
Never leave your pet in a car. It takes only a few minutes for a pet to die
from heat stroke. Always remember, if it’s too hot for you, it’s definitely
too hot for your pets.

If you are between 12 and 18 and would like to be added to the
teenage job seeker’s list, please fill out the form on our website (www.

SUMMER CAMPS
The iWRITE Organization will host Creative Writing & Illustration Summer
Camps around the Houston area, allowing young writers to bring their
stories to life! iWRITE was founded ten years ago by children’s author,
Melissa Williams Murphy, in order to give students the opportunity to
build their writing skills and boost their creative confidence through all
kinds of writing programs and publishing opportunities. This summer
young writers can learn straight from the pros!
The iWRITE summer camps and workshops will be held in June and July
in the Cypress, Spring Branch and Ft. Bend areas with opportunities for
kids ages 8 to 16 years old. Students will learn character development
skills that can be used in all types of writing, how authors brainstorm and
turn ideas into a story, how illustrators bring characters to life through
art, fun editing techniques and even how to get your work published.

THE ARC OF KATY’S SUMMER DAY PROGRAM!
THE TIME TO ENROLL IS NOW!
The Arc of Katy is currently taking applications for three Summer
Program sessions for teens and adults with intellectual and development
disabilities who are at least 16 years of age and meet the program’s
minimum requirements. The Day Program will be held Monday through

Three Sessions are being held this Summer:

Session 2: June 29-July 24, 2020

Community Events
18TH ANNUAL WARBIRD WEEKEND
APRIL 18TH-19TH
The world-famous CAF B-17 Flying Fortress Texas Raiders will be
headlining the 18 th annual Warbird Weekend April 18 th -19 th at the West
Houston Airport in Houston, TX. The B-17 Texas Raiders, along with the
only flying SB2C dive-bomber Helldiver, replica Japanese Zeros from
the TORA TORA TORA performance unit and the Vietnam era CH-46 “Sea
Knight” helicopter will all be in attendance. Various WWII warbirds will be
on display and available for public flights and visiting aircraft will offer
cockpit tours for the entire weekend.
For the past 18 years, Warbird Weekend has emerged as one of the most
entertaining annual World War II and 1940s themed events in Houston.
It is a can’t-miss experience for anyone who enjoys nostalgia, historic
aircraft and military vehicles and antique cars. Families will also enjoy reenactors
from the 6 th Cavalry in authentic uniforms with restored ground

HOLY WEEK AT LIVING WORD

journeys to Easter. On Thursday, April 9 th , Maundy Thursday worship
services commemorating the Last Supper of Jesus and his disciples will

fundraiser is a collaboration between Houston area ceramists, woodturners
and artists working in all media and Houston Center for Contemporary
Craft. Attendees enjoy perusing the 1,500-plus one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted
bowls donated by Houston area ceramists and craft artists, which are
available for a donation of $25, which goes 100% to Houston Food Bank.
There are also larger bowls available at a higher price (lunch also included.)
Note: for each $1 donated to Houston Food Bank, THREE meals are provided
to the hungry. So, each $25 bowl purchase provides 75 meals! Live music

Cajun Heritage Fest - April 4, 2020, 11 AM-11 PM, Carl A. Parker

of Cajun flavors and sounds will sing a little and dance a lot to live music
at the Carl A. Parker Multipurpose Center in Port Arthur. The Cajuns from
Louisiana crossed the border to call Southeast Texas home and shared their

Festival, a family-friendly event that will showcase 15+ of Houston’s hottest
