H&H “EURO” FLY TYING THREADS
What type of thread do I need?
If you’re starting out with mostly trout flies in sizes 4-20, your “Euro” 6/0 will work just fine. If you’re tying bass bugs, wooly
buggers, spinning hair and so on, our 3/0 is the ticket. Some folks tie all their dries with 8/0, but it takes some practice!
Our “Euro” threads continue to get high reviews among fly tyers, experienced and novice alike.
It is much, much stronger compared to threads of similar diameter! And stronger thread means
less build up & less frustration. It also means you’ll have less thread “bulk” to your flies. Our
6/0 is perfect for most all around tying! If you’re experienced, you’ll wonder why you never
used these before! 100 yard spools. Imported from Germany for Hook & Hackle. Polyester
material and easily flattened for securing hair (bass bugs, streamers, etc). $2.25per spool.

Our floss is ‘single stranded,’ which I particularly like because you can use it on a bobbin, which is
difficult with the typical 4-stranded floss. The “Stretch” nylon is spooled for easy winding on a bobbin
and is the perfect body material for thread body flies like midges and other small flies. Made
exclusively for Hook & Hackle by Danville.

I use it to secure materials that like to roll
