MESA-OUTREACH FOOD DRIVE - MAY 9, 2020
MESA-OUTREACH is still open and distributing food and produce to area residents in need. Because of the Covid-19 invasion, MESA is experiencing a significant increase
in clientele while at the same time suffering from large reductions in donations. If you are able to help, please consider donating basic food items during MESA’s
upcoming food drive on Saturday, May 9, 2020 from 9 AM-1 PM. The most critical items are provided on the list below. We will be accepting donations in the parking
lot of Bear Creek United Methodist Church at 16000 Rippling Water Dr. Houston 77084. Please stay in your car and we will unload your donations for you.
The MESA Food Pantry is open on the 2 nd and 4 th Tuesday evenings of each month from 5-7:30 PM. The Produce Truck distributions are on the 3 rd Saturday morning of
each month, with distribution from 8:30-11:00 AM. The distributions are staffed by MESA’s volunteer HEROS using a drive-through distribution methodology.
• Financial donations are also needed to purchase certain types of food and other needed items. Donations may be made online through our website at www.mesaoutreach.org.
Without your help, MESA will not be able to serve the increasing needs of those in our community.
• Critical Pantry Needs: Spaghetti Sauce • Boxed Cereal • Rice or Dry Beans - 1# or 2# packages • Macaroni and Cheese • Boxed Potatoes • All types of Soup (Broth,
Creams, Chunky) • Canned Meats: Chicken, Tuna, Salmon, Chili, etc. • Canned Fruits • Jelly
Preventing the spread of
COR NAVIRUS
Houston Methodist is committed to keeping Houstonians safe during the coronavirus outbreak. While most people
may only experience mild symptoms, it’s important to keep those who are more vulnerable safe. By following these tips,
along with guidance from the CDC and public health officials, you can help slow the spread of COVID-19.
WASH YOUR HANDS OFTEN.
Proper hand hygiene can prevent the
spread of viruses. Use an antibacterial soap,
wash for 20 seconds and dry your hands
thoroughly. If you don’t have soap, use hand
sanitizer. Also, avoid touching your face,
particularly your eyes, nose and mouth.
PRACTICE COUGH ETIQUETTE.
Cover your coughs and sneezes. Use
a tissue when you cough or sneeze,
dispose of it properly and then wash or
sanitize your hands. Do not reuse your
tissues.
AVOID CLOSE CONTACT
AND CROWDS.
Practice social distancing: Keep about six
feet away from others as often as possible.
If you must venture out, try to go during
non-peak hours.
DISINFECT DAILY.
Keeping your home clean and disinfected
will prevent the spread of coronavirus,
and any other lurking germs. Remember
surfaces like faucets, door knobs,
refrigerator door handles and toilets.
SKIP HANDSHAKES AND HUGS.
COVID-19 spreads primarily through
person-to-person contact, via respiratory
droplets formed when a sick person
coughs or sneezes. Instead, consider
waving or simply smiling and saying “hello.”
SELF-QUARANTINE.
When it comes to staying home, it’s
better to be safe and stay put if you’ve
traveled or come into contact with
someone who has COVID-19 — even
if you don’t have symptoms. If you start
to feel ill, use telemedicine or call ahead
before seeing your doctor.
WHAT TO DO IF YOU SUSPECT YOU HAVE CORONAVIRUS: If you think you have been exposed to COVID-19 and develop a fever, cough or
difficulty breathing, you can speak to one of our Virtual Urgent Care providers in the MyMethodist app to help determine if testing is needed and advise
2 you on where you should go. You can also call your doctor for medical advice.
BRADFORD COLONY 1 & 2
(BC1&2) NEWS FROM THE BOARD
We are Texas Strong. We are Bradford Colony Strong. Save lives by staying at home. There is no easier
way to save lives than this. You don’t have to be a front line worker, you don’t need PPE, you don’t
need specific skills.
By now we all should understand the importance of how we can stop the spread of this extremely
contagious disease and contain it so not spread to our vulnerable population and overwhelm our
healthcare systems. We stay home to save our loved ones, our neighbors and even people we do
not know. Every community is affected and everyone can help to stop the spread of this disease.
This article was written in early April so by the time this article comes out, we hope the coronavirus
outbreak would have peaked in our area, but we still need to be diligent to continue to contain the
outbreak. When community members work together, any crisis can be overcome.
We want to thank all the essential workers who continue to provide services to communities -
grocery stores workers, sanitation workers, EMS and all healthcare workers - we had never spent
much time to realize how much they all do for us and how much we depend on them.
If you have not signed up an account in TownSq, please do so. It is our official forum to communicate
between homeowners and property management/Board. You can submit requests, ask questions
etc… to and get replies from our property manager - Maggie McKay, while Board members can
monitor the communications.
During this Stay at Home period, we have moved our monthly meeting online. It is still being held
on 2 nd Tuesday at 7 PM. Link on joining the meeting is posted in TownSq announcement.
BRADFORD COLONY SECTION 3
(BCS3) GARAGE SALES
At present, there are no plans to have a neighborhood wide garage sale for BCS3 this year. But the
Bylaws allow for individual residents to have up to four garage sales per year. If you are interested in
having your own garage sale, please contact any Board member to let them know you are planning
to do this. Thank you for your cooperation as to this issue.
(BCS3) CONTACT THE BOARD
As is the case with everything in our small neighborhood, every resident should feel free to contact
any Board member as to any issue or question that you have about BCS3. Contact information for all
the Board members is located inside of this publication.
Happy Memorial Day!
CHARLESTOWN COLONY
(CHC) NOTES FROM THE BOARD
Yard of the Month: Congratulations to 5614 E Towerglen Loop
COVID 19
We hope that everyone in the community continues to stay healthy and safe. For our elderly in
Charlestown Colony, please do not be afraid to ask for help. We all have to come together as a
community to help one another in these unprecedented times.
We have continued to do, “Yard of the Month.” However, delivering the gift cards has been time
consuming and a real challenge. If you won yard of the month and have not received your gift card,
please contact Heather Palomo at 832-418-9020 to claim it. We haven’t heard from anyone.
2020 HOA Annual Assessments: If you have not paid the annual HOA dues by now, it is delinquent!
New Application: https://app.townsq.io:
The management company is using a new application which is much more robust than the
previous online website. To register for the application, the HOA account number and an email
address is needed. Within the application, HOA dues can be paid, messages can be sent to the
management company, other requests for home improvement projects etc. can also be done by
click or swipe.
We will no longer tolerate work being done on the outside of the houses ie: roofing, paint or any
additions without approval from the Board. If it continues the Board will take action. We all need to
work together, every property owner has a copy of the homeowners association bylaws. In adhering
to these rules all of us keep our property value up.
Got The Nextdoor App? https://nextdoor.com/
It only takes a few minutes to sign up and it helps keep everyone informed on current events in
our area. If you see something, say something, because we are our best defense against crime and
retaining our home values!
Annual Dues Payment: Thank you to all who have paid your HOA dues! Since the Board has
not increased the HOA dues for 2020, there should be no excuse for paying delinquent!
February 1 st , unpaid annual dues are considered delinquent and subject to late fees and
penalties. Our management company has new policies and procedures in place to collect on
past due HOA assessments. If these have not been paid yet, please make every effort to pay
or make a payment arrangement. The Board worked diligently to maintain our HOA dues at
$330 for 2020.
Thank you to all those who have paid their annual assessment dues to the Concord Colony HOA. A
reminder for those who have not, a late fee and interest will be added to your outstanding balance
not expedite the posting of the payment. The PMG office can only take your check and mail it for
you - the late fees and interest are still applied. If you would like to arrange for a payment plan,
please contact Shannon Abernathy, our management company representative, at 281-367-8137
Due to the CDC Coronavirus (COVID-19) guidelines and recommendations, the Concord Colony
HOA Board has postponed the annual election meeting until October. Currently, the Board is
changes will be released when available. Meeting changes will be published on TownSq under My
your home or yard must be approved by the Architectural Control Committee (ACC). This includes
reroofing your home.
6. Download the ACC form and print it.
7. Complete the ACC form and include a paint chip, if necessary..
The paint ‘chip’ and the ACC form can be mailed to the address listed on the bottom of the form or
emailed with a scanned copy of the paint chip to the address also on the bottom of the form.
The ACC committee will review your request. The committee has up to a month to act on your
request. PMGHouston will notify the homeowner on the outcome of the request.
The approved colors are Sherwin Williams colors and color numbers. To view the actual colors:
(YC) STAY AT HOME
This is such an unprecedented time. If we all do our part to keep our distances and stay safe, we
will help everyone. Staying at home, trying to develop a new routine, entertain yourself and your
family, can seem overwhelming. Take each day as it comes. Take breaks outside your home - in your
yard. Enjoy the weather and nature. Walk your dogs. You can still visit with neighbors across the
driveway. Step out of yourself and check on older or infirmed neighbors. Ask if they need anything.
Include them in your weekly shopping lists. Remember our animals need food supplies also. Flying
M Feed Company - on FM 529 between Jackrabbit and Eldridge - is very friendly, well-stocked with
dog, cat, rabbit, chicken food and supplies. They also deliver. Your Yorktown HOA Board wishes all
good health and patience during this trying time.
(YC) YARD OF THE MONTH
Judging for yard of the month began in April. We will announce the April winner in the June issue.
With the stay at home order, we may have more time to devote to our yards. Perhaps make it a
family project to get outside and enjoy the fresh air. You still have time to get outside and make a
difference. Happy planting.
(YC) BE SAFE
If you see something, say something. Call the sheriff’s department 713-221-6000. The officers that
patrol our neighborhood are contracted by us and are here to protect us and our property. They have
no concern of your immigration status, so please call the sheriff’s department Lock your car doors
and take your valuables out of your car.
