SOLAERA is the full-supply solar heating system with the highest energy yield and the smallest area requirement on the market. This means that, compared to standard solar heat collectors, the new SOLAERA hybrid collectors produce up to four times as much energy, even in the crucial winter months of November to February. Due to their mode of operation downstream of a combined heat pump, the collectors generate 50 percent more energy than standard collectors. This is in addition to the heat that is drawn from the ambient air through a fitted fan. In the case of an installation with a collection area of 25 square metres, for example, this results in a quadrupling of heat. This is a technological advance that has never before been achieved, and which is setting standards even with regard to the planned energy turnaround. Lower costs and the smallest possible space requirement on the roof and in the cellar In addition to its above-average energy efficiency, the new generation of SOLAERA solar heating is also cost effective. In future, customers will be able to save 20 percent on investment costs. The full SOLAERA system only takes up a small amount of space, which is important, particularly for small or unfavourably aligned roofs. This means that the Consolar solar installation supplies an entire home with heat, and for this only requires the smallest collection area of all current solar installations on the market. With only five collectors and a collection area of 14 square metres, a new build or a well-renovated old building can be provided with heat for hot water and heating all year round. Up until now, eight collectors (21 square metres of collection area) have been the minimum requirement. Even in the cellar, the space requirement is small. A footprint of 3 x 1.2 metres is sufficient for accommodating the energy centre and the SOLAERA heat store. Valuable storage spaced is saved, compared to biomass systems or oil-fired boilers, and the house will not need an additional chimney. 8 SOLAERA - SOLAR HEATING FOR YOUR HOME No earthworks or installations in the garden, and more efficient than heat pumps A SOLAERA does not require either the erection of air equipment (evaporators) or earthworks (probes) in the garden. The Consolar system procures 100% of the required heat through its new hybrid collectors. Even in cold outdoor temperatures, when the need for heat is high, standard thermal pumps need a great deal of electricity. This solar heating takes advantage of the fact that the sun generally shines during the day under such weather conditions. Then SOLAERA works particularly efficiently, which is apparent to householders in the form of lower electricity bills. Very low electricity consumption contributes to climate protection The SOLAERA full-supply system saves electricity and reduces environmentally-hazardous CO2 emissions to a minimum through an intelligent combination of solar and environmental heat. A SOLAERA installation with eleven collectors will fall below the target of a maximum of 10 kg of CO2 emissions per square metre of living space per year for a maximum global warming of 2°C. By comparison, conventional heating systems, such as air- and ground-source heat pump systems, oil or gas heating generate 50 to 150 percent more CO2 emissions. A top-class condensing boiler The new condensing boiler represents a further development of the best, proven, conventional oil-fired boiler with aboveaverage efficiency. Its stainless-steel construction guarantees corrosion-free operation, thus extending its service life by years. What is special? New routes are being followed in boiler construction with an ingenious system of flue-gas control and special heatexchange surfaces. Thanks to these technologies, efficiency can be improved to previously impossible values. Thanks to these modifications, there is no need for an additional boiler pump with return temperature controller and flue-gas ventilator. All of the important areas can also be easily accessed and are easy to clean for chimney sweeps. Thanks to the highquality stainless-steel construction, rapeseed oil can be burned without any worries. During the test phase, trials were run at temperatures from Company headquarters of FeisTec GmbH in Ingersheim 50/30°C to 80/60°C in various partial loads. In all of the values confirmed in the test report, the lowest degrees of efficiency in the partial load range of 30% were 96.4%! Such values made people sit up and take notice, and were very welcome in these times of high oil prices. Thanks to the good partial load values, considerable amounts of oil can be saved with a replacement boiler. 9 Benefits for installation The easily accessible connections and the flue-gas outflow from the top reduce spatial requirements to a minimum. When combined with a hot-water cylinder, no additional space is required. Operators additionally profit from low oil consumption, which they can adjust themselves using sophisticated yet easy-to-operate electronics. With all of these benefits, the boiler price is only slightly higher than that of a conventional boiler. These additional costs will be quickly offset by the lower costs for energy. This innovation additionally reduces both damage to the environment and operating costs. It is unlikely that there will be a turning away from oil-fired heating in the foreseeable future. Rather, when fitting a new oil-fired boiler, only the most economical will be good enough. In Switzerland and Germany, the largest number of boilers is installed in the range up to 50 kW, which operate almost solely in the partial load range. Great quantities of oil can be saved in this area of use using the new condensing boiler by FeisTec compared to non-condensing boilers.
