CREATIVE WRITING & ILLUSTRATION SUMMER CAMPS<br />
The iWRITE Organization will host Creative Writing & Illustration Summer Camps around<br />
the Houston area, allowing young writers to bring their stories to life! iWRITE was founded<br />
ten years ago by children’s author, Melissa Williams Murphy, in order to give students the<br />
opportunity to build their writing skills and boost their creative confidence through all kinds of<br />
writing programs and publishing opportunities. This summer young writers can learn straight<br />
from the pros! The iWRITE summer camps and workshops will be held in <strong>June</strong> and July in the<br />
Cypress, Spring Branch and Ft. Bend areas with opportunities for kids ages 8 to 16 years old.<br />
Students will learn character development skills that can be used in all types of writing, how<br />
authors brainstorm and turn ideas into a story, how illustrators bring characters to life through<br />
art, fun editing techniques and even how to get your work published. Visit iWRITE.org to learn<br />

THE ARC OF KATY’S SUMMER DAY PROGRAM!<br />
The Arc of Katy is currently taking applications for three Summer Program sessions for teens<br />
and adults with intellectual and development disabilities who are at least 16 years of age<br />
and meet the program’s minimum requirements. The Day Program will be held Monday<br />
through Friday, weekly, from 8 AM until 3 PM at: The Arc of Katy, 5819 Tenth Street, Suite C,<br />
Katy, Texas 77493. Three Sessions are being held this Summer:<br />
Session 1: <strong>June</strong> 1-<strong>June</strong> 26, <strong>2020</strong> Session 2: <strong>June</strong> 29-July 24, <strong>2020</strong><br />
Session 3: July 27-August 14, <strong>2020</strong><br />
Each session will include a variety of fun activities including excursions, crafts, life skills,<br />
games and much more. Summer Program cost is $35 per day and participant must be a<br />
current member of The Arc of Katy to participate. Participants will bring a snack and lunch<br />

you after 3 tries, we will remove you from the list until we do. Must have parent(s) permission.<br />
