POOL ACCESS 

Please contact Paragon Property Management Office to activate 

existing cards and obtain new wristbands OR obtain new cards and new 

wristbands, phone 210-580-4230. 

Pool: (Check www.copperbrookhoa.com for updates on when the 

pool will be open to residents in light of Covid 19) The pool hours will 

stay the same. Pool hours are Tuesday-Sunday 6 AM-10 PM. These hours 

will be enforced. There are cameras at the pool and officers will be sent 

out if necessary. Remember, no smoking, cussing, rough housing, pets, 

unaccompanied children under 14 at the pool. The rules are posted at the 

pool for your reference. Our pool contractor has informed us that he will be 

giving the pool a heavy dose of chlorine/chemicals on Friday mornings in 

order to support the weekend crowds. We suggest that you DO NOT swim 

before 9 AM on Fridays in order to avoid any skin irritation. Thank you for 

your cooperation in this matter. You MUST be current on your HOA dues 

or be on a payment plan to gain access to the pool. There will be a $20 

convenience fee for the management company to get you an activated 

pool card. You should be able to pay this fee over the phone with a credit 

card. You will need to turn in your old access card to a Paragon Property 

employee or pay a $10 charge for a new card. You can pick up your card from 

Paragon Property or wait for delivery (could be up to 2 weeks). You will need 

to sign paperwork and give them your old card in order to get an activated 

card and 2018 bands. If you are a new renter to the community, please call 

Paragon Property at 210-580-4230 to fill out a Renter’s Information Form so 

that you will be in the system and able to get pool cards/bands. 

Décor of The Season: Copperbrook is happy to announce we will be 

awarding trophies 4 times throughout the year now! Best Summer yard 

will be judged on July 15 th or later. Best Halloween yard will be judged 

on October 31 st and best Christmas yard will be judged on December 

25 th . So, keep those yards looking great so you can earn bragging rights! 

Violation/Past Due letters: Simply stated, if you get a violation letter 

or you are past due in your HOA dues, PLEASE call the Paragon Property 

at 210-580-4230 to discuss a payment plan or get an extension on a 

needed repair to your property. The management company and Board of 

Directors are not unreasonable and will make every reasonable effort to 

work with residents if you will make an effort on your part to either initiate 

the repairs or pay the fines, whichever the case. Communication is simple 

and vital to keeping the issue from escalating. The Board of Directors 

along with Paragon Property plan to be consistent and proactive in 

keeping our community looking great, feeling safe and making sure dues 

and fines are collected in a timely manner and homes and yards are kept 

up to a standard to which we can all be proud. If you need a copy of the

send you a copy. 

Next Door App: This is a free app so homeowners can communicate 

instantly with one another. This app can be used to request referrals from 

other homeowners such as plumber, landscaper or a fence company. You 

can also post lost or found pets, report suspicious vehicle or person in 

the neighborhood. All you need to do is download the app and enter the 

information they request. The information that is requested is the same 

information you can already obtain online so do not let this deter you 

from looking into the app. 

Water Meter: As part of ongoing efforts to improve services a direct and 

secure access to the homeowners water usage data is being offered. The 

EyeOnWater suite of available tools includes a secure online website to 

review and analyze water usage patterns. To access your personalized 

online portal visit: www.eyeonwater.net/signup. You will need your Zip 

Code, Account Number and Email address to register on line.

Renovations: We are aware that on occasion homeowners receive letters 

from the management company that are considered unwarranted by the 

homeowner. If you plan to do a small renovation or do major cleaning and you 

know that you may have something unsightly in your driveway/front yard for 

a short period of time, please call Paragon Property and make them aware of 

your activities so that she can make a note on your account in order to avoid 

a letter being sent out.If you are planning a major renovation to the exterior 

of your home by painting your house, replacing your fence or adding storage 

to your yard, remember to contact our neighborhood’s Architectural Review 

Committee. You can call Paragon Property (our management company) to 

inquire about the proper forms needed to make your submission and they 

will gladly email the forms to you. We hope to have these forms available 

for download on the community website soon. The Architectural Review 

Committee will review the request to make sure the request meets the 

neighborhoods deed restrictions. The committee’s approval must be granted 

before making such changes to the facades of the home such as paint colors, 

roof colors and burglar bars (which are prohibited on the front doors or any 

windows). Also, sheds and canopies should not be visible from the street. If you 

submit a request to the Architectural Review Committee and it gets denied, 

please call Paragon Property (our management company) to inquire as to 

why your project was denied. It may be as simple as additional information is 

needed (ex: paint color, pictures, lot survey). If you are thinking about a project 

you are invited to attend the monthly HOA meeting to get any questions 

answered prior to submission. If you need a copy of the deed restrictions, 

please email copperbrookhoa@gmail.com and we will send you a copy. 

SAFETY 

Park and Pool Safety: Parents please accompany all children to the park and 

pool for their safety. The playground opens at sunrise and closes at sundown. 

Please call 911 if you see any suspicious activity, persons or vehicles. This area 

is monitored by surveillance cameras, however as homeowners, we need to 

assist the police and play an active role in keeping our community safe! 

Neighborhood Safety: PLEASE lock your doors and remove all valuables 

so that there is little temptation and hopefully nothing taken if they 

do break in your vehicle. There have also been reports of crimes at the 

new park (Charles Austin Park) and so we urge you to be aware of your 

surroundings at all times. Please be alert to things such as unknown cars 

idling, circling the neighborhood, increased traffic at a particular home 

and driving slowly as if to stall for time. If you see this behavior, please 

call 911 and report the suspicious activity. It would be helpful if you could 

provide any of the following information to the 911 operator or sheriff’s 

department when you call: description of the vehicle, person(s), time of 

day and/or license plate number. Please be discrete and keep in mind 

safety is priority. Also, if you notice a lot of traffic and multiple vehicles 

coming and going from a location please call the sheriff’s office and inform 

them of the high traffic volume of that location. It takes a community 

effort to keep a community safe. The HOA is cooperating with the local 

law enforcement in keeping this a safe community for our families. 

Surveillance Cameras: Surveillance cameras are installed at the pool 

house. The cameras are positioned to monitor the pool areas, the park 

grounds and the parking lot. HOA Board members have 24-hour access 

to view the ongoing activities of these areas. All suspicious activities will 

be reported to the Sheriff’s Office immediately.

Cheesy Potatoes on the Grill 

INGREDIENTS: 

4 slices Bacon 

3 large Baking Potatoes 

1 large Onion, sliced 

1 cup processed Cheese, cubed 

1/2 tsp. Salt 

1/4 tsp. Black Pepper 

1/2 tsp. dried Parsley 

2 Tbs. Butter or Margarine 

1 Tbs. Bacon Drippings 

DIRECTIONS: In a heavy skillet over medium-high heat, fry the bacon until 

crisp, reserving one tablespoon of the drippings. Drain the bacon on a paper 

towel and crumble when it’s cool enough to handle. Set aside. 

Peel and slice the potatoes, placing them on a 9-inch by 13-inch double-layer 

of aluminum foil as you go. Separate the sliced onion into rings, and layer them 

over the potato slices. Add the crumbled bacon bits, cheese, salt, pepper and 

parsley. Dot the potatoes with butter or margarine, and drizzle the bacon fat 

over the top of the mixture. 

Wrap the foil loosely around the potatoes, but make sure the ends are well 

sealed. Cook on the grill about 4 inches from the hot coals for about an hour, 

or until tender. Remember to turn the package often to keep the potatoes

Bark lice are small, 

soft-bodied insects 

that live on hardwood 

trees, especially Live 

Oaks and sometimes 

on Pecans. Their 

webbing appears in 

midsummer and can 

cover a tree trunk and 

large branches very 

quickly. But don’t be 

alarmed - bark lice 

are a great clean-up crew feeding on fungi, bacteria, dead insects and 

lichens! 

Although some people think they’re unsightly, bark lice are highly 

beneficial and should be left alone. With the first fall frosts, they’ll begin 

to decline, along with their web.

GARDEN TIPS FOR JUNE 

Lawns: Apply iron sulfate or chelete to St. Augustine grass lawns. 

• Mow St. Augustine to a 2-inch height now to protect roots from the sun. 

Never cut off more than a third of the leaf. 

• Continue treatment of lawns for chinch bug. As the temperature hits 80 

degrees, chinch bugs begin to reproduce in the hottest and driest part 

of the lawn, usually next to cement. Use diazinon or dursban granules. 

Flowers: Overwatered hibiscus, purslane and bougainvillea won’t bloom. 

• Keep flowers pinched off of coleus and caladiums to encourage more of 

the beautiful foliage. 

• Plants to set: Acalpha, Ageratum, Alternathera, Aspidistra, Artemisia, 

Balsam, Begonia, Chrysanthemum, Cockscomb, Coleus, Croton, Dusty 

Miller, Feverfew, Gaillardia, Geranium, Marigold, Petunia, Pinks, Portulaca, 

Salvia-red, Shrimp Plant, Torenia, Verbena and Vinca. 

Vegetables: A strong blast of water in the morning rids plants of most 

bugs for the rest of the day. 

• Vegetables to plant: Cantaloupe, Sweet Corn, Cucumber, Eggplant sets, 

Okra, Black Peas, Pepper Sets, Summer Squash and Sweet Potato. 

Shrubs: Watch Camellias and Azaleas, they’re setting their blooms now 

for next season. So give them a good mulch and plenty of water. Mulch 

well with oak leaves and/or pine needles to keep soil acidic. Benefits of 

Mulching: Mulching (organic or inorganic) is a layer of material on the 

surface of the soil around the plant. Mulches conserve water by reducing 

evaporation, insulates the soil and protects it from the drying wind and 

hot sun. Mulches break the force of rain and irrigation water and tend to 

prevent erosion, soil compaction, and crusting. Lastly, a 2-3 inch layer of 

mulch will almost eliminate weed problems.

Foundation has decided to postpone the B. F. Adam Golf Classic until 

the COVID-19 risk is minimal within our community for the safety of our 

288 golfers and over 100 volunteers, trustees and staff, who help make 

this event a tremendous success, as well as the staff at BlackHorse Golf 

Club. Our 33 rd annual B. F. Adam Golf Class has been moved to Monday, 

November 16, 2020. 

Celebrating 50 years as a non-profit raising money to fund scholarships 

for Cypress-Fairbanks ISD high school graduates, the Cy-Fair Educational

ST. AIDAN’S EPISCOPAL VBS 

Take a ride with us for an exciting week of VBS, July 13 th -17 th ! Early 

registration costs $20. Late registration is June 1 st , costs $30. Our theme 

this year is Rocky Railway; Jesus’ Power Pulls us Through. In addition, we’ll 

be having Armored Sports come in again this year for after VBS fun! 

From 12-4 PM, Armored Sports will run a Bible based sports camp. The 

participants will play fun games like dodgeball, kickball, capture the flag, 

and games revolving around basketball, soccer and more! The cost in 

addition to VBS is $115 if registered before June 1 st and $125 if registered 

after June 1 st . Note: Registration for Armored Sports must be done 

separately from VBS. 

A.D. PLAYERS AND ACADEMY SUMMER CAMP 2020 

The Academy plans to begin our Summer Camp 2020 “Fun Under the 

Big Top” on June 8 th . A.D. Players and Academy Staff will be taking extra

The iWRITE Organization will host Creative Writing & Illustration Summer 

Camps around the Houston area, allowing young writers to bring their 

stories to life! iWRITE was founded ten years ago by children’s author, 

Melissa Williams Murphy, in order to give students the opportunity to 

build their writing skills and boost their creative confidence through all 

kinds of writing programs and publishing opportunities. This summer 

young writers can learn straight from the pros! 

The iWRITE summer camps and workshops will be held in June and July 

in the Cypress, Spring Branch and Ft. Bend areas with opportunities for 

kids ages 8 to 16 years old. Students will learn character development 

skills that can be used in all types of writing, how authors brainstorm and 

turn ideas into a story, how illustrators bring characters to life through 

art, fun editing techniques and even how to get your work published.

JUNE IS NATIONAL CAMPING MONTH 

National Camping Month in June is an excellent time to pack up your gear and experience nature. Whether 

you like roughing it or prefer to have a few modern conveniences when heading out to the trail, it’s 

important to keep a few things in mind: 

1. Make sure you have plenty of fresh water or a fresh water source. 

2. Take a first aid kit and that it is stocked. 

3. Pack waterproof matches. 

4. Take non-perishable food such as granola bars, jerky, peanut butter, chocolate bars and dried fruits, 

especially if you are not taking a cooler. 

5. Pack fruits, vegetables and meats separately and keep chilled in a cooler. 

6. Include sunblock, even for cloudy days. 

7. Rain gear, jackets and blankets are necessary for cooler weather. 

Around the country, there are a variety of campsites available. The more modern campsite includes showers 

and recreational facilities. These often include water hookups and parking pads for RVs and campers and 

cabins to rent as well as more primitive sites with no electrical hookups designed for tent usage. Other 

parks only allow primitive camping and require everything you pack into the park to be packed out. So, 

seriously consider your needs if you are hiking into the park for your stay. These are not for the glampers. 

Gather family and friends, don’t forget the s’mores supply and go camping! Nature is calling and there are
