Editor’s note<br />
Around the world technology, and the benefits it<br />
brings is allowing us to work smarter, faster, and more<br />
efficiently. With the current World pandemic, technology<br />
is providing us with the ability to communicate and<br />
survive economically in a virtual business environment<br />
that has now, for many, become a day-to-day reality.<br />
However, the stay at home, don’t travel message<br />
surrounding the virus is a huge problem for event<br />
producers and even though restrictions are being lifted,<br />
there are naturally concerns at the prospect of taking a<br />
flight and compromising our health.<br />
With the above thoughts in mind, and as organisers<br />
of <strong>forecourttech</strong>, SAB Events Europe has taken the<br />
decision to hold the <strong>20</strong><strong>20</strong> edition of <strong>forecourttech</strong> on<br />
a virtual platform during the first week of October this<br />
year.<br />
Before taking this decision, I communicated my<br />
thoughts with fuel retailers and supplier delegates who<br />
agreed it would be a logical and sensible step in the<br />
current circumstances. What this also signified to me<br />
was the overall enthusiasm and support for<br />
<strong>forecourttech</strong>, which continues to gain recognition and<br />
support, a uniquely focused event on evolving<br />
technologies that optimise the operation of the retail<br />
forecourt.<br />

Having spoken to an experienced production company<br />
during May we now have a virtual event platform<br />
that honours the <strong>forecourttech</strong> format. I would like to<br />
thank our delegates, sponsors and industry partners for<br />
their support in helping us to bring <strong>forecourttech</strong> V to<br />
market.<br />
