“The Cincinnati market
is still enjoying great
price appreciation given
the tight inventory.”
- Ellie Kowalchik
Q: Are we headed towards a housing crisis due to the
recent economic instability?
A: The prior downturn occurred when we entered 2008
with already high levels of housing inventory. The
housing sector enters this recession underbuilt rather
than overbuilt. That means as the economy rebounds,
housing is set to help lead the way out. In fact, most
economists predict that housing will not be affected by
recent economic changes, however we have yet to see
any consequences of COVID job losses on our housing
inventory. History proves that most recessions do not
negatively impact housing prices.
