Exhibitions and Arts and Cultural Programs
(FY 2019: October 1, 2018 – September 30, 2019)
Shift: A change in focus or a deeper understanding. The American Swedish Institute’s 2019 theme, Shift, encouraged
members, visitors and guests to see something in a new light or to adjust their previous understanding, especially with the
addition of new information or a change in circumstances. Our exhibitions and programming for the year aimed to shift
perspectives and generate fresh discourse on topics such as the Vikings, Scandinavian craft and the environment.
