THIS ONE-DAY, PRACTICAL TRAINING COURSE IS AN EXTENSION OF OUR
CITY & GUILDS COURSE AND AIMED AT BOILER OPERATORS DEALING
WITH ONGOING BASIC BOILER ROUTINES AND MAINTENANCE.
WHO IS IT FOR? SUPPORTED GUIDELINES COURSE CONTENT
WHO IS IT FOR?
This course is aimed at operators of
steam boilers wishing to obtain general
skills and knowledge of steam boiler
operation and maintenance.
The aim is to develop the knowledge
required to carry out daily operating
routines and maintenance.
Fulton’s boiler operator training course
supports compliance with BG01 (SAFed)
and HSE INDG-436.
The course also bridges the gap between
the more expensive courses that
can cost thousands per employee and
straightforward ‘toolbox’ training.
The boiler operator course covers
steam pricinples and boiler operation
in the form or a presentation; a multiple
choice test to confirm an understanding
of the course; the principal operation
of controls and test equipment (using
customer’s own boiler where possible);
and an observational assessment using
test papers.
This course is aimed at operators of
steam boilers wishing to obtain
general skills and knowledge of boiler
operation and maintenance.
The aim is to develop the knowledge
required to carry out regular operating
routines and maintenance.
ONSITE TRAINING
COURSE CONTENT ENHANCED TRAINING ONSITE TRAINING
Training is carried out on site by
steam boiler specialists using
customer equipment to ensure
appropriate training is provided
in familiar surroundings.
This practical boiler maintenance course
covers basic fault finding, ongoing basic
maintenance to manufacturers’ guidelines
and hands-on training, specifically
applicable to your equipment
The course includes recommended
preventative maintenance regimes,
as well as building on the key foundation
skills already obtained through our
City & Guilds boiler operator training.
Training is carried out on site and by
Fulton’s own experienced training
officers using customer equipment to
ensure appropriate training is provided.
The course ensures best-practice and
enables trained boiler operators to better
understand their steam system.
Fulton also offers two CPD Certified
training courses covering vertical
tubeless boiler operation and
maintenance and VSRT boiler
operation and maintenance.

COURSE CONTENT
WHO IS IT FOR?
Correct water treatment can help to
increase the lifespan of your equipment,
improve efficiency and management of
cost and maintain good steam quality.
This cost-effective, Fulton-accredited
water treatment course is carried out by
a water treatment specialist and in line
with BG04 and HSE INDG-436.
The water treatment course covers
the reasons for water treatment,
pre-treatment methods, chemical
treatment, TDS and blowdown
control and calibration and the
monitoring of water treatment.
The one-day course is aimed at those
deemed responsible for the day-to-day,
safe operation of a site’s steam raising
equipment.
It is carried out at a client’s site, using
their own equipment, with up to six
operators in attendance.
