paraphrase a ‘shout <strong>of</strong> joy’ in the final book <strong>of</strong><br />
the series – The Last Battle. He greatly reassures<br />
us that when the world finally ends, a New World<br />
will absolutely immediately appear, ready-made,<br />
and as the heroes <strong>of</strong> the story enter this New<br />
World they cry out for joy. In a world with money<br />
gone and computers shrunk back to their own<br />
original size in importance, would the shout be,<br />
‘Higher and Further.’ then become ‘Ever Higher<br />
and Ever Further.’?<br />
