Driver

Social Styles

Strong willed, independent, practical, decisive and efficient. Can be pushy, severe, tough,

dominating, aggressive and harsh. Verbally uses fast statements, loud monotone, focus on the task

and use of facts and figures. Non-verbal traits are pointing, leaning towards, direct eye contact, rigid

posture and controlled facial expressions. Person who wants action, results and to be in command.

To build relationships with Drivers you should support their goals and objectives; ask don’t tell;

concentrate on facts; recognise their ideas and provide alternatives with successful probabilities.

Stick to business and support results not the person.

undisciplined and egotistical. Verbal behaviours are loud, using opinions and stories and focused

on people. Points at people and leans forward making direct eye contact but palms will be open,

the posture casual and lively expression. Needs excitement and acceptance; bored by routine and

intuitive in action.

To build relationships with Expressives you solicit ideas, opinions and aspirations; brainstorm and

develop mutually stimulating ideas. Don’t rush or argue but pin down agreement before confirming

in writing.

Industrious, persistent, serious, exacting and orderly. Can be critical, indecisive, picky and

moralistic. Measures statements and focuses on tasks using facts. Leans back while talking,

makes indirect eye contact, closes hands and controls facial expressions. Has minimum concern

for relationships, rejects involvement, is cautious and needs to be accurate and right. Often seen as

a technical specialist.

To build relationships with Analytics you must use a thoughtful, organised approach. Be well

prepared, listing advantages and alternatives. Do not rush or use gimmicks. Provide evidence and

demonstrate achievability.

and stories. Hands are relaxed and makes indirect eye contact but has open palms and casual

posture. Usually unhurried, comfortable with the status quo and rejects conflict. Needs personal

security, acceptance and relationships.

To build relationships with Amiables you should show interest in them as a person; obtain personal

objectives; discuss feelings rather than logic and listen; be agreeable and open; explore potential

problems and demonstrate support.
