Is Your
Dog As
Bored As
You?
30
Lets face it, lockdown has been a bit boring
hasnt it? So much seems to have changed
now, but one thing that has remained constant
through all of this, is the bond that exists
between us dog owners and our faithful
friends. Nothing seems to faze them, and they
remain our perfect loveable companions.
Unlike us, they wont admit to being bored and
grumble about it all the time, but when you
look closely, you can often see it in their faces
or the way they slump listlessly around. That
being said, I thought it would be a good idea to
share with you some boredom-busting, fun
activities that you can do with your dog in your
home and garden to give them some physical
and mental exercise and banish the blues. Lets
get started.
The first is scatter feeding. Instead of chucking
your dogs food into their bowl, take their dry
food out in the garden and scatter it across a
metre or so of lawn. Then, let your dog come
out and explore. They will have to use their
nose and sniff out their meal. They love this.
Dinner times have never been so much fun!
play it inside or outside with just you and your
dog, or together with other family members
too.
There are actually alot of things you can try
with your dog which are stimulating not only
for them, but for you as well. Ive started a
YouTube channel dedicated to this topic, and
you can find me demonstrating some of the
ideas that Ive been talking about in this article
and more besides. Heres the link: https://

In addition to my channel, there are a number
of Apps and websites out there to give you
even more ideas. A good place to start is the
DOGO App.

If after all this, your dog still looks a bit bored,
then why not treatthem for a walk with
Sophies Pet Care? This month, to celebrate reopening
after the lockdown, theyre offering a
buy one get one free offer for dog walks for
new customers. Now theressomething thats
sure to put a smile on Fidos face.
Another interesting diversion is alick mat.
This is a mat with a raised and spikes surface.
The idea is that your smear some yummy stuff
like peanut butter (pet safe) on the mat, and
let your dog try to lick every last bit off. It takes
ages and they absolutely love it.
But its not just food fun you can try; hide and Check www.sophiespetcare.com for more
