We are truly spoilt for choice on the South Coast and now has never been a

better time to enjoy our local beaches. Ellen Lai, avid explorer and lover of

nature, has been on the hunt for the most secluded spots by the sea.

The Witterings are stunning this time of year and offer a

huge expanse of sandy beaches and dunes for you to find

the perfect, secluded spot.

If you want to avoid

the crowds, make your

base at Chichester

Harbour where the sea

stairs go into the water.

It is quiet here and you

may spot the occasional

heron!

Reserve parking 1 week

in advance to park in

West Wittering Carpark

or better still, park for

free in East Wittering

and walk to the beach

in 15-20 minutes past

horses and beautiful

houses.

There's a water sports

business on the beach

called 2XS where you

can hire various

equipment eg.kayaks. it

is quite windy down

there so be warned!

OVINGDEAN, SUSSEX

This is a secret little haven I have

been visiting for years.

Parking - you can park on Greenways

which leads onto the beach, on the side

- free as there is no car park for this

beach as it's normally filled with locals.

'There's a cafe on the beach which so

lovely, they have bap options, huge

variety of ice cream

Be careful while swimming when it's

low tide, the rocks are sharp and reef

shoes are advisable!
