Dear Readers,

The COVID-19 situation has put the world on hold with every life waiting for the things to go normal. With authorities deciding to forcibly contain

movement of humans susceptible of becoming active carriers and consequently spreader of the deadly disease, businesses have postponed

major physical activities and have been seen pondering with possibilities of alternatives. Major shows have been postponed and associations and

organizers have increasingly adopted online networking platforms like webinars and virtual meetings. Governments world over have recognized

the tough economic conditions resulting from the global business standoff to come up with various economic packages to help out the distressed

industry and its people. Concerned associations and organizations have come forward to spread the word and help out members as well as people

in general to easily understand such schemes and benefit maximum from them. CA Uday Dhote of Dhote Offset conducted a series of webinars

for industry people. AIPMA addressed difficulties faced by members/ units in obtaining funds from the government. DIC conducted its AGM

through video conferencing. Avinashilingam’s SoE and PVG’s COET organized 5-day FDP (Faculty Deveplopment Program). OPA made the best

of lockdown with a series of webinars.Lastmile Solutions has announced the first virtual PackImpressions for the Packaging and Printing industry in

July 2020. Xeikon Café took a TV broadcast form bringing live updates with introduction to the CX300 digitl label press.

The digital printing arena has arrived with innovations and quite a few new launches to show a marked business during the past 6 months, albeit

the corona crisis. Kodak has announced groundbreaking innovations across its Digital and Offset portfolio. Some of the key solutions include the

Sapphire EVO W, Prosper Ultra 520, Prinergy On Demand, Sonora Xtra plates and products in the Magnus platesetter family.

Other key products in the digital printing space are: Xeikon’s CX300, Screen PacJet FL830, Miyokoshi MJP30AXF, Memjet’s DuraFlex, HP Indigo

6K and 8K upgrades and Canon LabelStream 4000 upgrade. Canon has also launched imagePRESS C165 MFP in India. Monotech Systems has

launched four new models of Digital Label Presses under its renowned brand JETSCI Global. With IDERA, Xeikon and Flint Group have brought

digital print to the corrugated industry. Fujifilm India has launched Acuity Ultra superwide UV roll-to-roll printer with solvent free inks for the digital

signage segment.

On the installation front, Heidelberg Shanghai’s 9999th Printing Unit mark the production site’s fifteen years in China and will be installed at

packaging printing company Xian Jun Long. Bareilly based Vardhan Printing Press has installed a Komori Enthrone 429. Kanpur-based Aditya

Flexipack has purchased a BOBST VISION K5. The metallizer is equipped with BOBST AluBond for the production of high barrier and high adhesion

CPP/BOPP films and BOBST Hawkeye pinhole detector.
