Police kill taskforce member,
another in Abia

Abia State, as Policemen
shot dead a member of the
taskforce of the state Board
of Internal Revenue, BIR, as
they allegedly attempted to
stop the taskforce from
impounding a car.
It was gathered that a
passerby, who was also hit
by a bullet fired by the

ABUJA—NIGERIA has
achieved 40.18 percent

Minister of Communications
and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa
Alli Ibrahim Pantami has
said.
The minister revealed this
on Thursday, while
inaugurating Broadband
Implementation Steering
Committee, BISC, to
accelerate the attainment of
70 percent broadband
penetration target by 2025 in
Abuja.
Pantami, who expressed
satisfaction with the
contribution of the sector to
the nation’s GDP, described
the contribution as
unprecedented.

security agencies in the
country to immediately

book the promoters and
architects of violence in
Rivers State.
He said security agencies
should be allowed to carry
out their responsibilities to
our nation without
hindrance, including the
arrest of those behind the
June 21, 2020 threat to
unleash violence and
destroy Rivers State.
Abe, in a statement he
personally signed, said as a
country, Nigeria cannot
indefinitely tolerate
lawlessness, rascality and
impunity, as the greatness
of any nation corresponds
with the hard work and
sacrifice of its citizens.
"Nigerians must be
prepared to put in the hard
work and sacrifice that is
required to build Nigeria
and we must condemn the
unacceptable with one
voice.

Governments to halt the
killings in the kingdom.
He also called for the
"proscription of the Evwreni
community vigilante team
so that a new one can be

Reacting to the murder of
Sylvester Adjogbe in the
community, Ughere urged
security agents to
investigate the recent
killings in the community,
particularly that of Mr.
Sylvester Adjogbe, and
bring the perpetrators to
book.

kingdom should be
appeased for all the wrongs
that were done in the past
so that we can correct them.
The traditional stool that
was wrongly put in place
should be looked into and
reversed."
