CROSS-BORDER SUPPORT FOR FRENCH PATIENTS
https://bit.ly/2O47UYO
Germany, Luxembourg and Switzerland
made more than 100 beds
available for seriously ill patients
from the Grand Est Region in France,
which was particularly badly hit by
the pandemic.
SHG-Kliniken Völklingen, in Germany,
admitted COVID-19 patients
from France who needed critical
support. This hospital, based in the
Greater Region spanning Germany,
Belgium, France and Luxembourg,
is a beneficiary of several EU-supported
Interreg cross-border
cooperation projects, such as
SANTRANSFOR and COSAN.
The Luxembourg Hospital Federation,
which currently counts
10 Luxembourg-based hospitals
and specialised clinics, mobilised
its members to receive patients
from France and the Greater
Region. The Cerdanya hospital,
situated on the border between
Spain and France, treated COVID-
19 patients from both countries.
