Here are my four top tips for how to aceyour job application. Good luck!How to stand out in your job application:I always think quality over quantity is key whenapplying for roles. Make sure you tailor yourapplication to each company, referencing them directlyin order to show your genuine interest in that position.Your CV and cover letter should be well formatted andeasy to read – so find someone to proof-read thembefore you send to avoid mistakes! Do your researchand make sure you highlight your experience in linewith the role. You want to demonstrate your full skillset,even if it may not be directly related to the task athand. Remember that transferrable skills can comefrom all sorts of experiences.Follow up on your application! You may not be right forthat particular role, but the company may keep you inmind for future opportunities. Also – don't be afraid toask for feedback. Any feedback or advice could provebeneficial to your next application so get as much ofthis as you can.Things to avoid:Always be honest. If it’s on your CV, you will likely beasked about it during an interview. Make sure you cantalk about any experiences, technical skills, projectsetc. that you have listed. You don’t need to includepersonal details such as your full address, date of birth,gender etc. Your name, location and contact details(make sure these are correct!) is more than enough.These more personal details may be requested as partof a formal application, such as an online form, but arenot needed on your CV itself. Finally, avoidinappropriate email addresses such asprincess99@email.com or killallthealiens@email.com (Ihave genuinely seen this on a CV!)What does Aiimi look for in a CV?We want to see your experiences to date – whetherthat’s work based, academic, or voluntary – and howthey relate to the role you have applied for. We also likea bit of personality, so tell us something interestingabout yourself in your personal statement or share yourhobbies with us.
