GETTING TO KNOW THE2019-2020 GOVERNOROF DISTRICT 3830ADOR TOLENTINOGovernor 2019-20District 3830Rotary Club of Paranaque SouthwestGovernor Ador Tolentino is a lawyer by profession, teacherby passion, and a servant-leader by heart. He hails from asmall town in Ilocos Norte called Pinili. A certified“probinsyano”, his life’s early influences came from hisfamily of teachers, farmers, writers, and musicians.He is a proud product of the public school system. Aconsistent honor student, he obtained his degrees inPhilosophy and Law from the University of the Philippinesin Diliman, Quezon City. A student leader in UP, he servedas College Representative to the UP Student Council inSY1985-1986, giving him the opportunity to be part of UPcontingent during the 1986 People Power Revolution.He was a working student while in law school. He taughtPhilosophy for two years at the UP Los Baños Campusduring the day while taking up Law in UP Diliman in theevening.From the academe, he transferred to a governmentagency that catered to the indigenous people. This workopened his heart to serving the marginalized sectors.Governor Ador has been in the private practice of law for24 years, specializing in litigation, corporate, and appellatepractice. In 2003, he co-founded the law firm TOLENTINOCORVERA MACASAET & REIG. From a law firm of only seven,his law firm has now grown to a medium size of forty.A very active officer of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines(IBP), he is a Past President of the IBP Pasay-Parañaque-Las Pinas-Muntinlupa Chapter. Thereafter, he served asGovernor of the IBP Southern Luzon Region covering 12IBP Chapters composed of some 13,000 lawyer-members.Currently, he serves as the Chief of Staff of the IBP andconcurrently as Presidential Liaison to the Judiciary.In spite of his hectic lawyering, Governor Ador still findstime to teach. He is an accredited lecturer on Property Lawand Oral Advocacy and Trial Techniques by the SupremeCourt’s Mandatory Continuing Legal Education Board. Healso teaches Property Law at the Philippine Law School.As a servant-leader, he has found inspiration in servingothers through Rotary for the last 18 years.He joined Rotary in 2001, and since then he has becomedeeply involved in various humanitarian works.He served as the 13th President of the Rotary Club ofParanaque Southwest, a small club of only 22 membersthen which he steered to become a strong club during hispresidency so much so that after his term, his club wasrecognized by the District as Most Outstanding Club (SmallCategory) for the RY 2009-2010.Following his club presidency, he served in the District invarious capacities, most notable of which are being DistrictVocational Service Chair, District Rotaract Chair, DistrictYouth Service Chair, Assistant Governor, Deputy SeniorAssistant Governor for Avenues of Service, and RotaryAcademy Executive Director.Governor Ador was awarded with The RI Avenues ofService Citation in RY 2011-2012. As a consistent giver, heis a member of the Paul Harris Society. This RY 2018-2019,he and Spouse Beng have been recognized as MajorDonor Level 1 to the Rotary Foundation.Governor Ador is happily married for 17 years to the lovelyMs. Evelyn “Beng” Salomon-Tolentino, an Assistant VicePresident at BPI Family Savings Bank, Head Office.He has two grown up children by his first marriage: Kyla, aCPA in California, works as Senior Associate and DigitalAccelerator at the global accounting firm, PricewaterhouseCooper LA Branch; and Axel, who has a degree in Bachelorof Arts in Japanese. Both graduated from the CaliforniaState University, LA Campus.As a legal advocate, Governor Ador has chosen Peace asthe centerpiece of his governorship. He believes that“Everything we do in Rotary, consciously or unconsciously,has an underlying connection to Peace”!7
