When a long-term relationship dies – this by the way includes marriage – the hurting partners need enough time to grieve so they won’t burn their fingers twice, by jumping into new relationship. We all felt sorry for Mac, a cherished friend, when his wife left him. Usually, it’s the man who kicks his partner out and no amount of trying to patch up the relationship would shift him, but this time around, the shoe was on the other foot, and we couldn’t make Mac’s wife change her mind anyway – she was already abroad with her new-found love and a pregnancy she had whilst still married to Mac! When next I got invited to one of Kate’s on-the-spur-ofthe-moment get together bash, I brought Mac along to try and cheer him up. Kate is very good friend and as luck would have it, Debola, a sort of Kate’s clone was around. She never says no to having a good time. After her marriage of eight years hit the skids, she was happy she’d already had all the children she wanted. Three - a girl and two boys. Marriage had always cramped her style, she confessed. Now that she was answerable to no one, she was bent on making the most of her new-found freedom. A hard-working professional with a measure of success to show for it, she hi the party circuit with vengeance. Let me share with you the story of a sister who recently, lost her husband. She was so heart broken because, they have been waiting on the Lord for biological children and just last month, her husband died suddenly. This sister, a devoted Christian like her late husband was inconsolable. The more Pastors prayed for her, the more she cried. It is our prayer that the Lord comforts this lady. I pray for you, through out this year, you will not shed tears of sorrow. However, I once listened to the story of a woman who had a similar experience. This woman was married for about 15 years without any child but she continued praying with her husband and she had revelations that she would be a mother of twins. Then, the unexpected happened. Her husband died. She said, her world collapsed. She began to ask, how would she be a mother of twins, when her husband had died. Not long afterwards, she got married again. She waited for about two years. Suddenly, God intervened. She conceived and gave birth to a set of twins, a boy and a girl. When she gave this testimony, the congregation roared with shouts of Hallelujah. Brethren, you may not yet looking ones are the best and he definitely rings my bell all of the time!” So, why did I feel uneasy? Because I’ve heard her praise men to high heavens, only for her to give them, the push when a more interesting prospect shows up. Since Mac w3as single and not bad-off financially himself, maybe Debola would want to settle down for a change. Now they lived together on and off, who knew what could happen? The whole thing lasted for just over a year. It was Kate who first alerted me that Debola was having it off with a banker she met at her flat. My heart dropped. Was Debola such a sex fiend? Brethren, by the grace of God, the lock down is winding down gradually. It is therefore time to look forward to a “ New Beginning”. A new beginning of joy, a new beginning of an end to all challenges. Have you been having bad dreams? Fear not. When you are afraid, the devil and his demons rejoice. Rather, you need to wake up and cancel such dreams with the Blood of Jesus. Revelations 12 vs. 11: And What would happen to it if she lived with Mac on a permanent basis? Debola said she wasn’t having of that. That house is her little haven from the world’s stress. Why throw all that over for Mac? What’s more, Mac was keen n remarrying. She wasn’t. As a born-again Christian, Christ has empowered you. Bear it in mind that you are equipped with the power of the Most High God and it is a matter of time for you to triumph. For many couples, barrenness is a challenge. Many have taken medical steps that have not yielded any positive result. Even at that, the solution is not to give up. Make up your mind not to surrender to that challenge, rather, submit totally to the Lord Almighty. be together all the time. That was scary, believe me. Joseph when lured by Potiphar’s wife said to himself in Genesis 39 vs. 9 “ There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?”. If Joseph had not fully submitted to God, he would have succumbed and whatever was done secretly would be exposed some day and his destiny would be truncated. Brethren, it was not easy for Sarah or Hannah but they overcame. You too will overcome in Jesus name. Sarah lost faith in the ability of God to give her a child. The Holy Bible tells us the story of how Abraham and Sarah entertained the Lord in Genesis 18 vs. 1-16. Our emphasis is on vs. 10-12 “ And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him. Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women. It ended in verse 21 vs. 6 when Sarah who initially lost faith in herself and God said, “ …. God has made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me”. This is not the time for despair; it is time to hold on to God who is able to reverse the irreversible. It doesn’t matter what you may be going through, we have a God with whom all things are possible. You need to lift up your faith to receive that miracle you have been expecting. God is able. Believers must never give up. Challenges are sometimes steps for us to move closer to God. This season, by the grace of God, whatever has been making you unhappy will give way to joy, joy unspeakable in Jesus name. Welcome to a new beginning in Jesus name.
