Pilates and Manual Therapy – A Combined Treatment
A challenging session aimed at the experienced therapist to look at several key movements and
how manual therapy can be used alongside pilates. In this session APPI Founder Glenn Withers
will look at spinal articulation through the lumbar spine (via the shoulder bridge movement on the
pilates reformer) and thoracic spine (via the Split pedal chair), and how manual therapy, muscle
energy and manipulation can be incorporated to address any dysfunctions seen during these key
movements. In addition the session will look at the use of taping techniques for the activation of
the gluteals in issues related to pelvic imbalances.
This session is ideal for therapists, but anyone is welcome.
