Ascent Aviation signs contract with
Ameristar Air Cargo
Ascent Aviation Services (Tucson AZ) signed a
contract for an undisclosed value with Ameristar
Air Cargo, for heavy maintenance and
additional work on one DC9-15F aircraft. Ascent
is a premiere narrow body maintenance,
modification, refurbishment and storage facility
located at Tucson International Airport.
Ascent provides high quality, cost efficient,
24/7 support with competitive turn times and
is FAA/EASA certificated.
HAITEC Aircraft Maintenance signs
GTA with Pullmanturair
HAITEC Aircraft Maintenance GmbH, based in
Hahn, Germany, signed a GTA with Pullmanturair
(based in Madrid, Spain) for their fleet of
B747-400s, on April 10th. The first aircraft already
arrived for maintenance activities (Maintenance
Checks and SB/AD incorp.) for approximately
10 days at their facility in Hahn.
Saab receives contract extension from
Airbus
Defence and security company Saab received a
contract extension from Airbus, for the A320family
Aileron for the life of this programme.
Based on the current Airbus order backlog for
the A320-family the initial contract is valued
at 701 MSEK. Further Airbus sales will lead to
additional orders and thereby increase the total
contract value. Saab has delivered ailerons
for the wings of the Airbus A320-family since
2000. Saab has carried out extensive work
aimed at reducing product costs through innovative
new design and manufacturing processes
for these composite ailerons. Saab has
developed new state of the art CFRP (carbonfiber-reinforced
polymer) monolithic technologies
and the concept have reduced the number
of parts on the ailerons by over half.
FL Technics adds seven new line maintenance
stations to global network
FL Technics is set to open seven new line maintenance
stations across Europe, the CIS and
Asia-Pacific. The range of services offered in all
seven new line maintenance stations will extend
to on-call maintenance, pre-flight, daily,
weekly checks and component replacements,
inspections and repairs. The line maintenance
support will also include full 24/7 AOG services.
The new stations in Hazrat Shahjalal International
Airport (Bangladesh), Malta International
Airport (Malta), Moscow Vnukovo
International Airport (Russia), Krakow International
Airport (Poland), Szczecin–Goleniów
Airport (Poland), Poznań–Ławica Airport (Po-
land) and Rzeszów-Jasionka Airport (Poland)
will start operating from mid-April to the beginning
of June 2012. The first upcoming line
maintenance station in Dhaka, Bangladesh, to
open its doors to customers on the 14th of
April 2012, is a joint project of FL Technics and
its partner Avalon Aviation Limited. FL Technics
Storm, part of FL Technics, will provide
complex line maintenance services for Boeing
737, Boeing B747-400/800, Boeing B767,
Airbus A320, Airbus A330, Airbus A340 and
ATR42/72 types of aircraft.
Constant Aviation becomes Rolls-
Royce Authorized Service Center
Constant Aviation was appointed by Rolls-
Royce as an AE 3007 Authorized Service
Center. Constant Aviation is now able to
offer Legacy 600/650 operators in-house
engine maintenance, on-site parts and warranty
claim processing.
MTU Maintenance to provide further
support for JetBlue Airways’ IAE
V2533 engines
MTU Maintenance Hannover continues to provide
support to U.S. carrier JetBlue Airways.
The airline has been sending its IAE V2527
engines to the Hannover shop on an exclusive
basis since 2005. The carrier now has further
entrusted MTU Maintenance with the maintenance,
repair and overhaul which now covers
all of its V2533s, the most powerful V2500
version on the A321. The amended contract
will run until 2020 and includes a five-year renewal
option. JetBlue has opted to convert an
MNG Technic undertakes first C-checks on Boeing 767s
existing A320 order for 30 aircraft into A321s.
U.S. low-cost carrier JetBlue Airways, headquartered
in New York, currently operates a
mixed fleet of 172 Airbus A320 and Embraer
aircraft and has another 126 planes, mainly
A320s and A321s, on order.
MTU Maintenance Canada and Fokker
Services sign engine accessory repair
services agreement
Fokker Services and MTU Maintenance Canada
signed an Engine Accessory Repair Services
Agreement for the support on various engine
accessory components. The agreement signed
is valid for three years with annual renewals
agreed to by both parties. The agreement includes
a range of accessory components supporting
MTU maintenance Canada and engine
repair shop in Germany – MTU Maintenance
Hannover GmbH. The work is being accomplished
on various engine types, but mostly on
CF6-50 and CF6-80. The work will be carried
out by Fokker Aerotron (USA) in Georgia and
Fokker Services (NL) in Amsterdam.
Monarch Aircraft Engineering to provide
line maintenance to Air France in
Malaga
Monarch Aircraft Engineering signed a line
maintenance technical handling agreement
with Air France. With immediate effect,
Monarch Aircraft Engineering will provide
full maintenance support for the French carrier,
who operates a three times weekly service
into Malaga on an Airbus A320 aircraft.
MNG Technic, based at Istanbul’s International Ataturk Airport, became the first privatelyowned
Turkish MRO to provide C-checks on Boeing 767s when it undertook maintenance
work for an unnamed customer. The C-checks will be completed on 19 April. This is the
second major milestone for MNG Technic in the past 12 months, after it became the first
Turkish MRO to carry out passenger-to-freighter conversions last year, when it converted
three Airbus A300-600s to freighter configuration for MNG Airlines. Work on the conversions
started in September 2011.
