Ascent Aviation signs contract with<br />

Ameristar Air Cargo<br />

Ascent Aviation Services (Tucson AZ) signed a<br />

contract for an undisclosed value with Ameristar<br />

Air Cargo, for heavy maintenance <strong>and</strong><br />

additional work on one DC9-15F aircraft. Ascent<br />

is a premiere narrow body maintenance,<br />

modification, refurbishment <strong>and</strong> storage facility<br />

located at Tucson International Airport.<br />

Ascent provides high quality, cost efficient,<br />

24/7 support with competitive turn times <strong>and</strong><br />

is FAA/EASA certificated.<br />

HAITEC <strong>Aircraft</strong> Maintenance signs<br />

GTA with Pullmanturair<br />

HAITEC <strong>Aircraft</strong> Maintenance GmbH, based in<br />

Hahn, Germany, signed a GTA with Pullmanturair<br />

(based in Madrid, Spain) for their fleet of<br />

B747-400s, on April 10th. <strong>The</strong> first aircraft already<br />

arrived for maintenance activities (Maintenance<br />

Checks <strong>and</strong> SB/AD incorp.) for approximately<br />

10 days at their facility in Hahn.<br />

Saab receives contract extension from<br />

Airbus<br />

Defence <strong>and</strong> security company Saab received a<br />

contract extension from Airbus, for the A320family<br />

Aileron for the life of this programme.<br />

Based on the current Airbus order backlog for<br />

the A320-family the initial contract is valued<br />

at 701 MSEK. Further Airbus sales will lead to<br />

additional orders <strong>and</strong> thereby increase the total<br />

contract value. Saab has delivered ailerons<br />

for the wings of the Airbus A320-family since<br />

2000. Saab has carried out extensive work<br />

aimed at reducing product costs through innovative<br />

new design <strong>and</strong> manufacturing processes<br />

for these composite ailerons. Saab has<br />

developed new state of the art CFRP (carbonfiber-reinforced<br />

polymer) monolithic technologies<br />

<strong>and</strong> the concept have reduced the number<br />

of parts on the ailerons by over half.<br />

FL Technics adds seven new line maintenance<br />

stations to global network<br />

FL Technics is set to open seven new line maintenance<br />

stations across Europe, the CIS <strong>and</strong><br />

Asia-Pacific. <strong>The</strong> range of services offered in all<br />

seven new line maintenance stations will extend<br />

to on-call maintenance, pre-flight, daily,<br />

weekly checks <strong>and</strong> component replacements,<br />

inspections <strong>and</strong> repairs. <strong>The</strong> line maintenance<br />

support will also include full 24/7 AOG services.<br />

<strong>The</strong> new stations in Hazrat Shahjalal International<br />

Airport (Bangladesh), Malta International<br />

Airport (Malta), Moscow Vnukovo<br />

International Airport (Russia), Krakow International<br />

Airport (Pol<strong>and</strong>), Szczecin–Goleniów<br />

Airport (Pol<strong>and</strong>), Poznań–Ławica Airport (Po-<br />

l<strong>and</strong>) <strong>and</strong> Rzeszów-Jasionka Airport (Pol<strong>and</strong>)<br />

will start operating from mid-April to the beginning<br />

of June 2012. <strong>The</strong> first upcoming line<br />

maintenance station in Dhaka, Bangladesh, to<br />

open its doors to customers on the 14th of<br />

April 2012, is a joint project of FL Technics <strong>and</strong><br />

its partner Avalon Aviation Limited. FL Technics<br />

Storm, part of FL Technics, will provide<br />

complex line maintenance services for Boeing<br />

737, Boeing B747-400/800, Boeing B767,<br />

Airbus A320, Airbus A330, Airbus A340 <strong>and</strong><br />

ATR42/72 types of aircraft.<br />

Constant Aviation becomes Rolls-<br />

Royce Authorized Service Center<br />

Constant Aviation was appointed by Rolls-<br />

Royce as an AE 3007 Authorized Service<br />

Center. Constant Aviation is now able to<br />

offer Legacy 600/650 operators in-house<br />

engine maintenance, on-site parts <strong>and</strong> warranty<br />

claim processing.<br />

MTU Maintenance to provide further<br />

support for JetBlue Airways’ IAE<br />

V2533 engines<br />

MTU Maintenance Hannover continues to provide<br />

support to U.S. carrier JetBlue Airways.<br />

<strong>The</strong> airline has been sending its IAE V2527<br />

engines to the Hannover shop on an exclusive<br />

basis since 2005. <strong>The</strong> carrier now has further<br />

entrusted MTU Maintenance with the maintenance,<br />

repair <strong>and</strong> overhaul which now covers<br />

all of its V2533s, the most powerful V2500<br />

version on the A321. <strong>The</strong> amended contract<br />

will run until 2020 <strong>and</strong> includes a five-year renewal<br />

option. JetBlue has opted to convert an<br />

MNG Technic undertakes first C-checks on Boeing 767s<br />

existing A320 order for 30 aircraft into A321s.<br />

U.S. low-cost carrier JetBlue Airways, headquartered<br />

in New York, currently operates a<br />

mixed fleet of 172 Airbus A320 <strong>and</strong> Embraer<br />

aircraft <strong>and</strong> has another 126 planes, mainly<br />

A320s <strong>and</strong> A321s, on order.<br />

MTU Maintenance Canada <strong>and</strong> Fokker<br />

Services sign engine accessory repair<br />

services agreement<br />

Fokker Services <strong>and</strong> MTU Maintenance Canada<br />

signed an <strong>Engine</strong> Accessory Repair Services<br />

Agreement for the support on various engine<br />

accessory components. <strong>The</strong> agreement signed<br />

is valid for three years with annual renewals<br />

agreed to by both parties. <strong>The</strong> agreement includes<br />

a range of accessory components supporting<br />

MTU maintenance Canada <strong>and</strong> engine<br />

repair shop in Germany – MTU Maintenance<br />

Hannover GmbH. <strong>The</strong> work is being accomplished<br />

on various engine types, but mostly on<br />

CF6-50 <strong>and</strong> CF6-80. <strong>The</strong> work will be carried<br />

out by Fokker Aerotron (USA) in Georgia <strong>and</strong><br />

Fokker Services (NL) in Amsterdam.<br />

Monarch <strong>Aircraft</strong> <strong>Engine</strong>ering to provide<br />

line maintenance to Air France in<br />

Malaga<br />

Monarch <strong>Aircraft</strong> <strong>Engine</strong>ering signed a line<br />

maintenance technical h<strong>and</strong>ling agreement<br />

with Air France. With immediate effect,<br />

Monarch <strong>Aircraft</strong> <strong>Engine</strong>ering will provide<br />

full maintenance support for the French carrier,<br />

who operates a three times weekly service<br />

into Malaga on an Airbus A320 aircraft.<br />

MNG Technic, based at Istanbul’s International Ataturk Airport, became the first privatelyowned<br />

Turkish MRO to provide C-checks on Boeing 767s when it undertook maintenance<br />

work for an unnamed customer. <strong>The</strong> C-checks will be completed on 19 April. This is the<br />

second major milestone for MNG Technic in the past 12 months, after it became the first<br />

Turkish MRO to carry out passenger-to-freighter conversions last year, when it converted<br />

three Airbus A300-600s to freighter configuration for MNG Airlines. Work on the conversions<br />

started in September 2011.<br />
