Father’s Day
Father’s Day is Sunday
September 6 – shop local, get
in early and give a gift that
gives twice this year. The
store manager of Newport’s
favourite charity shop Gisele
Hindhaugh, volunteers, local
celebs and businesses have
banded together giving their
time, vouchers and products
that Dad would love to raise
funds for the good works
of the Australian Red Cross
in NSW. On Friday August
28, local author Michael
Francis McDermott will be
signing copies of his book
In The Name of The Father
and donating 50% of sales.
On Saturday August 29,
Sam and Cameron Bloom
will be at the store signing
copies of their book Penguin
Bloom from 11am-1pm and
donating $10 of each sale
to Red Cross. There’ll be
handmade Father’s Day
cards for sale and great
quality menswear priced
at 50% off from 10am-3pm.
Local businesses including
vouchers or products that
will be sold in the shop at
less than their retail value.
And while all this is certain
to draw a crowd, be assured
