Seems the Dalby club are under new management this year and have tightened up on "outside
events". We should be able to get back there next year (most likely first weekend in October
as the Qld long weekend is moving from June).
This year, 2012, we are holding the event at Calvert field (under an hour west of Brisbane). It
has very much the same facilities as Dalby including camping and permanent shower/toilet
block + onsite cabins for rent at $20 per night. There is limited accommodation nearby but
some motels within 30 minutes drive have rooms available.
Accommodation Options:
On-site part-furnished, carpeted cabins $20/night (could sleep 2-4 people) contact Jim Hardy

On-site camping (shower and toilet and kitchen facilities provided) - free.
Gatton Hotel (07 5462 1333 - $130/night) has all nights available
Lowood hotel (07 5426 1310 - $80 single + $15 pp extra) has Sat, Sun, Mon nights available
Hattonvale hotel (07 5465 6611 - $105) has Sun, Mon available.

June 9, 10 & 11, 2012
At Chris Gratton’s field, accessed from Bourke’s Road West off Hiddenvale road, on the left , immediately
after crossing Western Creek .Gratton Field and Calvert Village are approached via the Rosewood- Laidley
Road by turning into Calvert Station Road , continuing across the rail line to Hiddenvale Road and crossing
the creek. The area is shown on map 209 of the Brisbane UBD.
The Programme:
Saturday June 9
10.00 - Gordon Burford, a short break for lunch and then Duration !!!!.
Saturday night: meal at local hotel if desired
Sunday June10
10.00 - Texaco, a short break after the fly-off for lunch and then 1/2A Texaco
Sunday night: meal at local hotel if desired
Monday June 11
10.00 Antique followed by general flying.
Presentation and wrap-up.
Note: any events affected by inclement weather will only be delayed and the program continues as
planned after the interruption.

What rules?
1. Noise,
The field has an upper limit of 96 DB average at 3 metres over grass.
2. Height limit is 2000 feet.
3. Contest conditions,
As current MAAA rule book EXCEPT for Duration where we will use the
Vintagents rule of a 25 second engine run for all engines other than four strokes operating
on supplied fuel that are allocated 30 seconds.
Fuel, we will be supplying our preferred blend of Texaco fuel, 20% oil 10% nitro, in addition
to the 15/5% mix as per the rule book. Additionally we see no problem if competitors wish
to blend the supplied castor based fuel with the supplied Cool power based fuel.
Pilot briefing Saturday 11 th on the field at 0930.
Accommodation:Due to Willowbank Raceway running a meeting on the
Queens Birthday weekend annually, accommodation in local Motels is
generally booked out year to year.
Camping is available at the field with multiple shower and toilet facilities for both
male and female visitors. In addition to space for caravans and motor homes there are now two
cabins available at a nominal cost. Cabin reservations are to be made via me as the Grattons will
be away for a few days.
Catering is nominally on a BYO basis except for the availability of hot water with tea and coffee
supplied by the Club.
