of the Arab Educational Information Network. El-<br />

Amine was a Fulbright Scholar at Boston College <strong>and</strong><br />

earned his Ph.D. from Sorbonne-Paris, with a focus on<br />

the sociology of education <strong>and</strong> education foundations.<br />

Mona El-Baradei<br />

Mona El-Baradei is a Professor of<br />

Economics <strong>and</strong> former Dean of<br />

the Faculty of Economics <strong>and</strong> Political<br />

Science at Cairo University.<br />

El-Baradei was previously Executive<br />

Director of the Egyptian National<br />

Competitiveness Council. She has served as a<br />

consultant for a number of organizations including<br />

the Social Fund for Development, UNDP, UNICEF,<br />

<strong>and</strong> the Ministry of Economic Development. She<br />

authored <strong>and</strong> co-authored a vast number of publications<br />

<strong>and</strong> research papers in the fields of economic<br />

development, human resources development, energy<br />

economics, <strong>and</strong> the economics of education. She is<br />

a board member of a number of private <strong>and</strong> public<br />

institutions. Mona El-Baradei earned her B.A., M.A.,<br />

<strong>and</strong> Ph.D. from the Faculty of Economics <strong>and</strong> Political<br />

Science of Cairo University.<br />

Khaled Elgindy<br />

Khaled Elgindy is a Visiting Fellow<br />

with the Saban Center for Middle<br />

East Policy at <strong>Brookings</strong>. Before<br />

arriving at <strong>Brookings</strong>, Elgindy<br />

served for more than five years as<br />

an advisor to the Palestinian leadership<br />

in Ramallah on permanent status negotiations<br />

with Israel, <strong>and</strong> was a key participant in the Annapolis<br />

negotiations throughout 2008. Prior to his work on<br />

Israeli-Palestinian negotiations, Elgindy spent many<br />

years in various political <strong>and</strong> policy-related positions<br />

in Washington, DC, including with the U.S Commission<br />

on International Religious Freedom <strong>and</strong> the<br />

House International Relations Committee. He also<br />

held positions with the Arab American Institute <strong>and</strong><br />

the National Democratic Institute for International<br />

Affairs. Elgindy holds an M.A. degree in Arab Studies<br />

from Georgetown University <strong>and</strong> a B.A. in Political<br />

Science from Indiana University.<br />

Keith Ellison<br />

Keith Ellison is the representative<br />

for the Fifth Congressional<br />

District of Minnesota in the U.S.<br />

House of Representatives. His<br />

roots as a community activist <strong>and</strong><br />

his passion for inclusivity in the<br />

democratic process shape his four core values: the<br />

promotion of peace, prosperity for working families,<br />

environmental sustainability, <strong>and</strong> civil <strong>and</strong> human<br />

rights. Working with members of the Congressional<br />

Progressive Caucus, which he now co-chairs, he<br />

helped shape health care <strong>and</strong> Wall Street reform, raise<br />

the federal minimum wage, <strong>and</strong> start the process to<br />

end the Iraq war. He currently serves on the Financial<br />

Services Committee <strong>and</strong> previously served on the<br />

Judiciary Committee <strong>and</strong> Foreign Affairs Committee.<br />

A member of Minnesota’s Democratic-Farmer-Labor<br />

Party, Ellison served two terms in the Minnesota State<br />

House of Representatives <strong>and</strong> graduated from Wayne<br />

State University <strong>and</strong> the University of Minnesota Law<br />

School.<br />

Emad El Maghraby<br />

Emad El Maghraby is Regional<br />

Professional Learning Manager at<br />

Johnson & Johnson’s Middle East<br />

office <strong>and</strong> serves as an Adjunct Professor<br />

of Marketing <strong>and</strong> Management<br />

at the American University in<br />

Dubai. He is an international speaker in the fields of<br />

healthcare marketing, management, cultural diversity,<br />

<strong>and</strong> capacity building. El Maghraby has led major nonprofit<br />

initiatives in the Middle East, focusing on philanthropy<br />

<strong>and</strong> capacity building for youth <strong>and</strong> Muslim<br />

religious leaders. He is currently authoring a dissertation<br />

on “Cultural Diversity Management for Western<br />

Leaders in the Middle East” as part of doctoral studies<br />

in Business Administration. He received his B.Sc.<br />

in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Cairo University, <strong>and</strong><br />

his M.B.A., with an emphasis on International Business<br />

<strong>and</strong> Globalization, from the Maastricht School of Management<br />

in the Netherl<strong>and</strong>s.
