Creating a Route to a POI by Name1. From the Main Menu, tap the Points ofInterest icon.2. Tap the Search By Name button.3. Spell the name of the POI to be used asthe destination. You don’t need to enterthe full name, but the more charactersyou enter, the easier it will be to find theexact POI you are searching for. Tap .4. POIs near your current position aredisplayed. You can tap “Near” fordifferent search criteria (Near CurrentPosition, Near City, or Near Address).If you select Near City or Near Addressyou will need to enter the city or addressinformation.5. Select the POI desired from the list ofPOIs.6. The ‘Go’ screen appears with the addressof the selected location, the estimatedtime of arrival (ETA), the distance totravel, and the routing method (e.g. Fast).(Optional) Tap Options if you want tochange the routing method.7. Tap the large Go button on the rightto return to the Map screen and startnavigating.Creating a Route to a Highway Exit POIThe Highway Exit POIs function provides away of accessing commonly used POIs thatare near an exit you are approaching whiletravelling on a highway. Highway Exit POIsinclude restaurants, gas stations, car repairfacilities and hotels. Highway Exit POIs can beaccessed while on a route or just driving, aslong as you are on a highway 1 .1. From the Map screen, tap the HighwayExit POIs button when it appears.2. The list of the next highway exits andtheir distance from your current positionappear.3. Small symbols represent the followingservice POIs near the exits:RestaurantsGas StationsCar RepairAccommodations4. Tap any of the symbols to get a list ofrelated POIs near the exit.5. Select one POI from the list, and tap .6. The ‘Go’ screen appears with the addressof the selected POI, the estimated time ofarrival (ETA), the distance to travel, andthe routing method.(Optional) Tap Options if you want tochange the routing method.7. 8 BluetoothPlease note that not all of the features of theMagellan RoadMate Bluetooth will work withall phones as features of cellular phones varyfrom manufacturer to manufacturer.Pairing your Bluetooth-ready Phone forthe First TimeBefore you use the Bluetooth function of theMagellan RoadMate receiver you must pairyour Bluetooth-ready phone to the RoadMate. A list of compatible phones can be found onthe Magellan web site at www.magellangps.com/support. Before beginning you shouldhave the instructions supplied with yourphone for questions about accessing theBluetooth pairing mode for your phone.1. From the Map screen, tap the Bluetoothicon.2. Tap the Settings icon.3. Tap Pair Phone Now.4. Enable Bluetooth on your phone. (Seeinstructions supplied with your phone forany questions.)5. On your phone, begin the searching forBluetooth device function.6. Select Magellan RoadMate from the list ofdevices found.7. The Bluetooth phone will begincommunicating with the MagellanRoadMate . When prompted, enter‘1234’ as the passcode on your phone.8. Your phone may ask to connect to theMagellan RoadMate . (If not, refer toyour phone manual for connecting to aBluetooth device.)9. When connected, the MagellanRoadMate will ask if you want to acceptthe connection. Tap Yes.10. Wait while the communication isestablished.11. You may now import contacts from yourphone. Tap Yes to begin importing. (Ifyou choose not to import your contactsnow you can do so later from theBluetooth Settings menu.)12. You may need to confirm on your phoneto accept connection from the MagellanRoadMate .13. When the contacts have beensuccessfully imported a confirmationscreen is displayed.14. The Bluetooth Settings screen isdisplayed.Bluetooth SettingsAccessing the Bluetooth Settings1. From the Map screen, tap the Bluetoothicon.2. Tap the Settings icon.3. Enabling/Disabling Bluetooth4. Access the Bluetooth Settings screen.5. Check Enable Bluetooth to turn Bluetoothon; uncheck to turn Bluetooth off.6. Enabling/Disabling Auto Connect7. Access the Bluetooth Settings screen.8. Check Auto Connect to set the MagellanRoadMate receiver to auto connect toyour paired Bluetooth phone when it is inrange; unchecked turns off auto connect.Enabling/Disabling Audible ManeuverWarning1. Access the Bluetooth Settings screen.2. Check Audible Maneuver Warning toturn it on; uncheck to turn it off.
