City of Mine
City
I write the city of mine
The city that never shines
It’s never lively like New York City
It would never stop making me dizzy
The city of mine is blue
But it doesn’t have oceans to view
The city of mine is grey
Thunders and lightning are on their way
The city of mine secretly cries
It’s full with crimes, full with lies
It hopes that everything could be fine
And maybe one day could find someone
Who understands the city of mine
Under the snow in a street,
In a truly cold secretive street,
Snow falling gently in front of me,
I walk alone,
I walk alone in this strange city street,
In this city street,
I insist on believing,
There will be a man,
Thinking the same thing,
Looking at the same moon,
With similar frequency,
In a lonely station exit,
Arranged to meet with me.

Haiku
The sky is dark,
For the God is angry,
Man, it was scary
The sun is happy,
He shines too brightly,
The cloud fills with jealousy
Chain Story using Justin Bieber’s Song’s Title by Derick Chan
It was at midnight, when I drank that glass of cold water. Thinking about the day when I
said sorry to you. Although not knowing what do you mean. But if I have one more chance
to be your boyfriend, I will give you company. I am sorry to tell you to love yourself. I miss
you baby. Can’t you just let me love you? I’ll show you how much I love you. As long as you
love me, I will love you till the day I die. It is like you and me are beauty and a beat. All
that matters is if you still love me. Finding somebody to love is not easy. I will never let
you go. You should mark my words.

A Sad
Memory
One day, I went to a park with a wonderful feeling.
On my way there, I saw a fishball stall across the
street. When I decided to go and bought the
fishball, a car suddenly came towards me with a
very fast speed. A dog came out and saved my life.
I was thinking about death at the moment but the
brave dog pushed me away and got injured
because of me. I felt astonished when I saw the incident and I screamed loudly. The
driver came out and asked me if I was injured and he checked his car. At that time, I was
very shocked since it was my first time involve in a car accident.
I was in a good condition so I brought the dog to the vet. When I reached there, the
vet took the dog into the surgery room. After an hour, the surgery was done. The vet said
the surgery was successful and the dog was safe. I felt relief. I made it as my pet. I
wanted to take care of it for the rest of my life. I sincerely promised my mother that I’ll
take care of it patiently and treated it like my little brother. I bathed the dog twice a
week. I made sure that it could eat and sleep well every day. I brought it for a walk at the
garden every evening. I took care of it from the bottom of my heart.
After two months, I started to feel bored and annoyed with it. As I was walking
towards my room, I patted its head harder and harder. “Ouch!” I screamed angrily. Sally,
the dog had bitten my hand. I lost my mind and kicked it hard. It kept barking at me.
‘Shut up, little devil!’ My parents did know that I hated Sally since the day I was annoyed
with it. Then I kept torturing Sally until its whole body had injured. It always cried in
front of me. However, I resented its sound and used the hangers to beat it viciously until
it was afraid of me. “That’s how you should be before this,” I said as I bowed down and
patted its head.
The next day, I was going to have breakfast with my parents and my little sister. I
dressed Sally up with a pink ribbon. “Oh, dear! Why is Sally injured?” my mother asked.
“It…It was…. It was actually an incident. I played with Sally yesterday and … and it fell
down from the stairs. It’s my fault. I didn’t take care of it. I’m… I’m so sorry,” I replied.
Then, my little sister interrupted and told the truth to my parents. I said ‘No, you must be
wrong! I’m not going to do like that to my beloved Sally’. My parents scolded my little
sister because accusing me. I won. My parents hugged me and tried their best to console
me. I secretly smiled and looked at Sally and my little sister evilly, but my parents did not
notice it. Then, we continued our breakfast.
7
After a few months, Sally was badly injured and I kept telling lies. Sally was getting older and weaker.
My little sister was not bother with my acts anymore because our parents kept scolding her and did not
trust her words. One day, I watched a TV show. It was ‘Humans’ Loyal Friends’. The movie was about a loyal
dog and its owner. I felt bored and started to sleep. Out of a blue, my mother shouted and cried. I was
frightened. ‘What happened?’ I asked and looked at the TV. There was a dog sacrificed itself to rescue its
owner. It was bumped by a lorry when it pushed its owner away. Its blood was all over the road. The owner
was sad. I was touched and my eyes were filled with tears. I hugged Sally closely. I felt regret.
I promised Sally to not torture it anymore. Therefore, I took time to play with Sally every day. I was
very giddy like a kid in a candy store. Sally was also happy when we were playing. It kept licking my cheek. I
gave Sally some chocolate. Both of us were on top of the world. Started from that day, Sally became my
bosom friend. The next day, Sally looked weaker and exhausted. It was groaning. It kept vomiting. I noticed
this incident and told my parents. Then, we brought Sally to the vet. The veterinarian said that Sally was unhealthy
because it had diarrhea. It was because it ate too many chocolates which were already expired. It
made Sally collapsed and died. After hearing that, my hands clasped over my mouth in disbelief. I felt deeply
hurt and cried loudly. My parents tried to calm me down. At last, we performed euthanasia even though
we knew that we will never see Sally again. I was in a great despair and felt disappointed with myself for
few days. It was a very sad memory. I would never forget Sally.

Readaholic, as the name suggests, is a programme which is aiming to encourage the
students to read. How does it work? It is very simple!
If the students have any book that they would like to read or any book that interests them,
they can go to Harvestian’s folder in their Google Drive and search for the Readaholic’s
folder. Once they find it, they can fill in the Readaholic’s form.
Each month, one or two books from the Readaholic’s list will be chosen. The students who
selected the chosen book, will have the first ‘dib’ of the book—meaning that he or she can
read the book first for one month before returning it to the library.
The first two students, whose their suggested book were chosen were Jamerline who has
requested The Fault of Our Stars, written by John Green and Tan Ru Wei (Rhay) who
requested for The Sister Keeper by Jodi Picoult.

My Dream Superhero!
Every time, after I have finished watching a movie about superheroes fighting villains, I always
think that creating a cool superhero for myself is way more epic. Perhaps, in the future, the superhero
that I created will actually exist. So, I created a superhero and named it Ultra Fusion.
Ultra Fusion is a normal person. His real name is Zack. He likes to work at a laboratory and willing
to risk anything in order to complete his experiment. He nearly died and is badly injured in the
four experiments that he had done. He is considered a very lucky person because any person will
definitely die in his extremely dangerous experiment. One day, Zack finds a virus. Nobody dares to
test the virus because it is new. Zack takes the risk and inserts it into his own body. Within minutes,
he grows muscular and gains infinite power. He has become immortal. He thinks that his power can
help his city to stay out of crime. Zack quits being a scientist and join the ‘Special Weapons and Tactics’
Unit or SWAT. He becomes the leader of the team and carefully leads them in protecting the city.
He has various awesome abilities. For example, mind reading which can help him to seizure the
real villain and prevent people from lying to him. This ability is used in many ways such as knowing a
lot of important things from the villain like his plans and his secret base. This will ease the police’s
work. Ultra Fusion can create anything he wants from a pile of rubbish. He always create robots or
transportation such as helicopter, jets, sport cars and many more. He creates it for emergency such
as escaping robbers. This can save his time and he gets to arrests the robbers as fast as he can.
Another ability is even more special. This ability is not for fighting but spying, which is invisibility.
Ultra Fusion can immediately be invisible and it will also help him to escape from villain and the
invisible power can also help him to walk pass through locked doors to get what he needs. It will reduce
any risks and easily complete a mission. The next ability is he can create water, wind, fire and
many more. He can basically use elements to become a weapon. He can create a small earthquake,
fire or tornado. He also has weapons like lasers and daggers. Another ability of his is disguise. He can
hide like a ninja and attack people by surprise. He uses the weapons like katana, kunai, or daggers for
near combat.
The final ability is kind of special. It is way much cooler than the others. He can stop time and
travel back to the past. This will help him to stop the crime in the past that he couldn’t prevent. Although
he can travel through time, he cannot meet himself in the past. If he meets his past self, there
is no guarantee that he will be safe. He can travel to the past to redo anything he had regrets.
That is the superhero that I always wish for. I truly hope this superhero will exist in the future.
If it happens, it will be one dream comes true.
