But, I was shocked and in total
disbelief when my Astros walked
off the field. Baseball is as American
as you can get. They say
they did it to honor the memory
of Jackie Robinson. I’m pretty
sure Mr. Robinson would
not have approved of
two teams refusing
to play when they are
PAID to play. COVID has
already destroyed professional
sports but this
just put the final nail in
the coffin.
Please don’t write
and say I’m racist or
don’t support Black Lives Matter.
I have said it time and time
again. Everyone has a right to
be treated equal. Everyone has
a right to a fair trial. No one,
regardless of race deserves to
be killed unjustly. Everyone has
a right to protest if they feel any
of the above have been violated.
You DO NOT HAVE A RIGHT
to destroy property, riot, loot
stores, beat up young or old
citizens, threaten people with
guns or violence, block roadways,
pull people out of cars
and destroy the businesses and
lively hoods of people that have
nothing to do with your cause.
This makes you the opposite of
a hero – this makes you a THUG.
Simple as that. And exactly what
are all these athletes protesting?
The fact that people of color
are being shot and or killed? It’s
tragic when anyone gets shot
or killed, whether it’s by police
or another individual. All of the
killing in this country should be
stopped. Innocent kids are being
shot every day in Chicago and
yes, most if not all, are black.
Who is protesting their death?
How many baseball games
were cancelled in 2020 because
315 black people were killed in
Chicago? How many basketball
games were cancelled because
38 black kids were killed? You’re
not American heroes, you’re just
spoiled brats who get paid too
much. You don’t have respect for
anyone. You don’t even have respect
for the very game you play.
You think Jackie Robinson would
respect what you’re doing? Hell
no. Jackie Robinson would be
gathering these protestors in the
streets and talking some sense
into them. If you idiots want to
stand for something, try using
your high-profile status to make
a difference in people’s lives.
Show them who they can be if
they put their hearts and minds
into something useful. Burning
down America is not useful or
productive. And it surely doesn’t
not make you a hero, even if you
are a basketball, football, or
baseball star.
