Hannah Peterson Graphic Designer 2008 008 2008 Annual Annual Meeting Meeting May 31 • Elmen Center, Augustana College • Sioux Falls SD Lutherans Outdoors’ Annual Meeting opened with a drum cadence as Neil Sorensen, Executive Director, introduced the singing group, “The Choirboys”. Campaign Chair Scott Parsley announced the campaign total-to-date, $3,985,000. Scott asked for additional pledges from the assembly which brought the campaign total to $4 million. Scott introduced Bishop Emeritus, Rev. Norm Eitrheim who recognized the 48 congregations who have completed their “All Are Welcome” campaigns. Rev. Eitrheim then reminded the remaining congregations, “We need your help to reach the goal of $5 million!”. Rev. Les Svendsen, Board Chair, called the business meeting to order at 12:00 PM. After an opening prayer, the Secretary’s report was approved. Treasurer Kurt Osborne gave a brief Treasurer’s report, noting that a full audited report is available at the Lutherans Outdoors Administrative office. Motion to approve was seconded and passed. Neil Sorensen presented his report, followed by Rev. Les Svendsen who presented the Board Chair’s report. Pastor Les then recognized and thanked off-going board members, Rev. Kevin Clark, Jenny Nelson, and Rev. Don Niedringhaus. Rev. Tom Christenson offered a prayer. The Choirboys, board, and staff led the entire assembly in a song, “I’d Like to Build the World a Camp”. Neil Sorensen thanked all for participating in LO’s Annual Meeting. Meeting adjourned.
