Colored Pencil TechniquesColoring a good drawing makes it great, but coloring a bad drawingmakes it a bad drawing. Coloring does not cover up mistakes, sopractice your drawings until you are confident about your lines. Thenbegin coloring.Coloring a basic cartoon face should not take longer than one ortwo minutes. Definitely don’t take more time to color than you did todraw the sketch. As in the drawing part of the process, you will makesmall mistakes in the coloring process. It’s part of the quick-sketchlook. Don’t worry about it, but try to color inside the lines as much aspossible. Always color lightest to darkest, because you can alwaysmake an image darker, but you can’t make an image lighter.
