Okowa's determined to complete Asaba<br />

Leisure Park, Film Village —Ejiofor<br />

restated the commitment of<br />

the Governor Ifeanyi<br />

Okowa's led Government to<br />

the completion of the Asaba<br />

Leisure Park and Film<br />

Village, saying it would set<br />

the government on strong<br />

revenue generation scheme.<br />

Speaking in Asaba during<br />

a press briefing to<br />

commemorate the World<br />

Tourism Day with the theme<br />

"Tourism and Rural<br />

Development", Ejiofor<br />

stressed the importance of<br />

Tourism, adding that it w<strong>as</strong><br />

a means of revenue<br />

generation for government.<br />

He said when completed,<br />

the Asaba Leisure Park and<br />

Film Village would take a<br />

lot ofyouths off the streets,<br />

saying "the movie industry<br />

in Nigeria is growing and<br />

we are going to attract these<br />

movie Producers through<br />

the standard film village".<br />

He held that interested<br />

Deltans were also going to<br />

be trained in all forms of<br />

cinematography <strong>as</strong> part of<br />

the State Government's<br />

human capital development<br />

effort.<br />

Lamenting the effect of the<br />

pandemic on global<br />

economy, he noted that<br />

tourism w<strong>as</strong> capable of<br />

incre<strong>as</strong>ing income potential<br />

of local residents.<br />

In a congratulatory<br />

message signed by the<br />

Chairman and Secretary of<br />

the Chapel, Mrs Nefishetu<br />

Yakubu and Osaigbovo<br />

Iguobaro, the Chapel said<br />

the governor's victory w<strong>as</strong><br />

a manifestation of his<br />

services to the people with<br />

his several interventions in<br />

different sectors of the<br />

state.<br />

The congratulatory<br />

message addressed to the<br />

Edo governor said: "the<br />

election h<strong>as</strong> given us and<br />

many others, a renewed<br />

faith in the nation’s<br />

electoral system that a free,<br />

fair and credible poll is<br />

possible if the people are<br />

united, determined and<br />

supportive.<br />

"As the fourth estate of<br />

the realm and Watch Dog<br />

incre<strong>as</strong>e community<br />

visibility and cultural<br />

opportunities for residents."<br />
