Be a part <strong>Montverde</strong> <strong>Academy</strong> <strong>Tennis</strong> (<strong>MAT</strong>), a premier tennis academy led by Brazilian<br />
Davis Cup Captain, and 2021 Olympic Coach for Brazil, Jaime Oncins. <strong>MAT</strong> studentathletes<br />
are trained in a rigorous program with highly competitive matches in the United<br />
States and internationally to take their skills and talent to the next level.<br />
This advanced program for grades 6-12 and post-graduate studies<br />
consists of professional, customized development plans and tournament<br />
schedules. Student-athletes play in high school competitions and<br />
compete in the United States <strong>Tennis</strong> Association (USTA) and the<br />
International <strong>Tennis</strong> Federation (ITF) tournaments and progress mentally<br />
and physically to reach their full potential both on the court and in<br />
the classroom.<br />

The idea of <strong>Montverde</strong> <strong>Academy</strong> <strong>Tennis</strong><br />
is to provide a setting where studentathletes<br />
can unite both rigorous academic<br />
development and elite level sports<br />
performance at a high school level. This<br />
winning combination allows student-athletes<br />
more opportunities for college scholarships<br />
and professional athletic avenues.<br />

EXPERIENCE COUNTS.<br />
Learn from the best with our world-class coaching and training staff. Led by Program Director<br />
and Head Coach, Jaime Oncins, a native of São Paulo, Brazil, with more than 15 years of<br />
experience coaching juniors and professional players. He has worked with top players such as<br />
Flavio Saretta, Andre Sa and Gastao Elias. Oncins began his tennis career at the age of six and<br />
became a professional at 18. His credentials include:<br />
- Coached the Brazilian team in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, women’s doubles won bronze<br />
- Best Association of <strong>Tennis</strong> Professionals (ATP) Singles - ranking 34 in the world<br />
- Best ATP Doubles - ranking 22 in the world<br />
- Quarterfinalist in Barcelona Olympic Games - defeated Michael Chang ( No. 2 in the world)<br />
- 1992 defeated Ivan Lendl, quarter finalist in the French Open<br />
- Competed in Davis Cup for 11 years<br />

STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING.<br />
The Strength and Conditioning Program at <strong>Montverde</strong> <strong>Academy</strong> <strong>Tennis</strong> goes well beyond the weight room.<br />
Our goal is to work with student-athletes as soon as they arrive on campus to assess their individual physical<br />
needs as well as provide performance testing to know how to best prepare them for their sport.<br />
