Alexander Graham Bell
Alexander Graham Bell was a famous
scientist, inventor, and inventor of the first
telephone. Bell's father and grandfather
all worked on language development, and
his mother and wife were deaf, prompting
Bell to direct his research. He invented the
telephone as part of his research on
hearing aids, and in 1876 he received a
patent for his telephone from the U.S.
Patent Office. In 1888, he became one of
the founding members of the American
National Geographic Society.
