So the lockdown started to come off around the
World, a welcomed return to happier times, but
as Dylan sang ‘The times they are a changing’
and as I write this we look with foreboding at
a reinstatement of tighter rules following an
upsurge in Covid. But never fear, music will find
a way through.
We’ve all witnessed the power of connectivity
through the auspices of new media and the
Internet. Although it’s shown its limitation
with latency issues making playing live from
remote locations nigh on impossible, but it has
allowed us to keep in touch and play on…..
Things may never be the same again, perhaps
an upside in a time of woe. If you’re reading
this magazine you’re in good company. We’ve
been truly amazed by the response to the first
issue of Reckless Tram. The take up has been
swift, worldwide and far greater than we had
expected. As I sit down to write this piece we
have we’ve had well over 1,000 subscriptions.
Like the Internet, Reckless Tram is all about
connectivity. We all have a genuine, deep-rooted
love of music. We may well differ in our tastes
but can recognize just how powerful a tool
music is in bringing people together globally,
no geographical barriers, no political affinities,
no colour bars, no gender characterization, no
Creeds…. Everyone has a voice, everyone is
heard.
Long may that continue with love and acceptance!
