You are invited to participate in an intensive
education program at St. Monica for people who
want to learn how to interact with the world in light
of their Catholic faith. Contact Al Mytty at
373-7355 or Stefanie Krievins at 506-9668.
Why Participate? To gain a better understanding of the Christian call to compassion and
to integrate personal spirituality and compassion to meet the needs of a broken world.
Meetings are one night each week (day of the week is TBD) between October 2012–May
2013. Space is limited to the first 15 people. Other groups may meet during the day and
on different evenings if there is sufficient interest.
Hear from past participants at one of these hour-long info session and get all the details
on the program:
� Sunday, August 26 following the 7:40 AM and 9:00 AM. Masses
� Saturday, September 8 following the 5:30 PM Mass
� Sunday, September 9 following the 10:45 AM and 6:00 PM Masses)
� As part of the parish’s Romero Day on Sept. 15

Megan Vladoiu
I can't even begin to express or explain
our trip to Honduras. I expected to feel
like I was helping people, but I was
amazed by how much everyone there
helped me. The love and joy that they had
was incredible. At the meetings before the
trip, when return travelers said people felt
like family, I thought they were crazy. I
thought there was no way that you could
spend a week with people and have them
feel like family. Well, I guess I'm crazy,
too! I can't imagine never going back, nor
do I want to. I don't think words can do
justice to the experience; you have to be
there yourself.
St. Monica Multi Class Reunion
A multi class grade school reunion is planned for Saturday, September 8 at 6:30 pm at
Northside Knights of Columbus, 2100 E. 71st St. The cost is $25.00 per person + cash

Social Justice University
What does the safety net look like? On
Wednesday, August 22 at 7:00 pm in the
St. Augustine Room, the Social
Justice Ministry will be sponsoring a
guest speaker from the St Vincent De
Paul Society to educate us about their
programs available to serve the poor and
vulnerable of Indianapolis. There are
quite a few services they offer that many
of us probably don't know about (free
legal services for instance). You and/or
friends or family or neighbors or
acquaintances may have needs that
could be met by St Vincent De
Paul. Please join us, whether from the
English or Hispanic communities (we
will have translators there). Peace!

Interested in joining an excellent
Catholic singles organization? The
Catholic Alumni Club International is
looking to expand in the Indianapolis
diocese. We provide a group dedicated
to social, cultural, civic and spiritual
relationships in a Catholic setting. For

Helping The Lord’s Pantry
The Lord's Pantry depends on the nonperishable
foods we bring in each week
and put in the blue food bin in the
Narthex. The Pantry services around
100 clients each week, every Tuesday
morning from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at
the Witherspoon Presbyterian Church,
5136 N. Michigan Road.
Checks can be made out to “The Lord's
Pantry” and sent to: The Lord’s Pantry,
PO Box 17104, Indianapolis, IN 46217.
Unfortunately, we cannot use clothing or
diapers; please donate those to the St.
Vincent de Paul Society or the Gabriel
Project. Thank you so much for all of
