Printed. Translated into English out of the Original Latin, 1st ed.,
1728, thirteen engraved diagramatic plates (one or two closetrimmed,
plate 12 diagram affected top margin), library stamps and
labels (including perforated stamp to title), previous owner signature
(partly erased), a few minor spots, later library half calf, rubbed, shelf
number sellotaped to spine, 8vo
The first edition in English (the Latin edition was published in 1729), both
incomplete and textually different, based on Newton’s optical lectures, given
in 1669, when he assumed the Lucasian chair. Babson 154; Norman 1592.
