Celebratingthe CentennialBrandywine River Museum'Votes for Women' ExhibitThis year, CCFWG and our partners celebrated theCentennial anniversary of the passage of the 19thAmendment, which granted many women the rightto vote back in 1920. Women of color did not achievethis right until many decades later. Here are some ofour partnerships and efforts throughout the year tocelebrate the legacy of early suffragists.Brandywine River Museum Speaker SeriesWe partnered with the Brandywine River Museum ofArt on their Speaker Series that brought to life manyelements of their 'Votes for Women' exhibit on thevisual history of women's suffrage.Centennial socialmedia engagementOnline Programming and EngagementWe developed a social media campaign and specialCentennial logo designed by a GAB alumna tohighlight various suffrage and female empowermentthemes throughout 2020. Our female elected officialsalso weighed in about the importance of civicengagement and voting through a video tribute to theCentennial.In partnership with the West Chester Public ArtsCommission and a local artist, CCFWG hascommissioned a women's suffrage mural that willbe unveiled in the West Chester Borough in fall 2020.We are proud to permanently commemorate thismomentous year.
