the Abbotsford Fairgrounds located at Tretheway
Street and McLure Avenue, Abbotsford, B.C. Please
park in the designated parking areas only. Parking is
not permitted around the building.

an exhibitors reception in the show hall. This is your
chance to “meet and greet” other exhibitors, your
show committee, and hopefully our judges will
make an appearance.

FOR SALE BIRDS
Exhibitors are encouraged to take part in the "For
Sale" section of the show, for birds that are not
entered into competition. You must register with
the Show Committee prior to the selling of your
birds. There will be a charge of one dollar ($1.00)
per cage, with a limit of one bird per cage. Birds can
be exchanged at any time in each cage.
Note: There is no fee if you are a member of The
Vancouver Poultry & Fancy Pigeon Association.
NO OUTSIDE SELLING PERMITTED!
All outside soliciting is subject to a $50.00 donation
to the VP & FPA.

a. Exhibitor fee: $5.00 per exhibitor.
Juniors are not required to pay
Exhibitor Fee.
b. Entry Fees: $2.00 per bird

U.S. exhibitors: please provide a money order
payable in Canadian funds, or you may
pay in cash at the show.
Sorry, US cheques will not be accepted.
2. Entries will not be processed unless accompanied
by your entry fees. Entry forms must
include band numbers. This will be strictly
adhered to!
3. Entries must be post-marked by Monday,
October 29, 2012. Late entries cannot be
accepted!

4. Coop-in of birds will be on Friday, Nov. 9th
from 6:00 PM. to 10:00 PM and on Saturday,
Nov. 10th, from 8:00 A.M. to 9:00 AM.
5. Judging will commence on Saturday, Nov.
10th, at 9:00 AM. Any exhibit not in place by
that time will be barred from competition.
6. Allowance of late arrivals and early departures
to be at the discretion of the Show
Committee.

7. Departure Schedule: All birds must be removed
between 12:00 P.M. – 1:00 P.M. on
Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012.
8. Classes will be provided for any class not
listed. (Minimum 2 exhibitors and 4 birds to

9. The Association will not be responsible
for rosettes and trophies pledged
but not received.

GENERAL SHOW RULES & REGULATIONS:
1. Exhibitors will not be allowed to remove
their exhibits before designated times,
unless with special permission. All birds
must be signed for before taken from building.
2. The card of the Association will be placed
upon each coop, giving the entry number of
Exhibitor and name of specimen. This will be
a CLOSED CARD show.
3. The Show Committee and their assistants
will be allowed in the Judging Area while
judging is in progress; this area will be under
the control of the Show Committee at all
times.
4. The Association reserves the right to put
more than one specimen in a coop, providing
the birds belong to the same Exhibitor.
In no case will two males be cooped together.
5. No prize award cards or ribbons will be allowed
to be attached to any coop except
the show cards awarded at the present
show. PLEASE NOTE: Show will not be responsible
for birds or stock left after the final
day.
6. The Association reserves the right to limit
the entries when the entries received exceeds
the accommodation.
7. During the Show, the Show Committee will
have full charge of all exhibits and they cannot
be removed from the show building
without his/her written consent. Any Exhibitor
removing birds from the building without
written permission from the Show Committee
will forfeit all prizes which may have
been awarded at this show by the Exhibitor.

8. No Exhibitor will be allowed to handle any
but his own exhibits.
9. Care will be exercised, but the Association
does not hold itself responsible for loss or
accidents to exhibits.
10. All eggs laid during the show will have fertility
destroyed and become property of the
Association.
11. Protests must be handed to the Show Committee,
in writing, accompanied by $25.00
within twelve hours after awards have been
posted. If, after investigation, they prove to
be without foundation, the deposit will be
forfeited.
12. Judging: In the absence of competition in
any section or, if the stock exhibited be of
inferior quality, the Judge will award only
such premiums as the exhibit merits. Judges
are requested to adhere to this regulation.
13. All birds must be provided with numbered
leg bands. The number must be on entry
form in space provided.
14. NOTE: Any exhibit showing disease or lice/
mites will not be allowed in the show building.
This rule will be strictly enforced. Any
animal/bird that appears sick at any time
during the show will be sent home at the
owners expense.
15. All shipping coops and crates must have
owner's name plainly written thereon as a
means of identification.
16. Any Exhibitor wishing to sell stock in the
open classes may place a "FOR SALE" sign,
5" x 7", after judging is completed, thereon.

Show Committee and only sold through the
Show Committee, and an official receipt issued
to the buyer.
17. No Exhibitor will be allowed to coop or pack
for shipment any exhibit unless accompanied
by the Show Committee or one of their
assistants at time of cooping or packing.
18. Although every precatuion will be taken to
prevent loss or injury to exhibits, neither the
Vancouver Poultry & Fancy Pigeon Assocation
nor any of its show committee will be
held responsible for such loss or injury.
19. In making out entries, Exhibitor will abide by
the following rules:
a) Use ONE entry form for each exhibitor.
b) Additional entry forms supplied
free on request.
c) Put the leg band number in
space provided.
d) State the correct breed and variety.
20. Judging sheets are to be dated and signed
by the Judges involved.
21. All entries must be made as Old Cock, Old
Hen, Young Cock and Young Hen.
22. A class will be provided for any Breed not
listed in this Show Catalogue list if entries
warrant.
23. MANAGEMENT: Management reserves the
right to decide any point not covered by the
rules and to correct any error or make any
necessary alterations in the Show Catalogue.
