The holidays are upon us, and after this challenging year, I think we will all
be happy to ring in 2021 in just a few weeks. This has been a difficult year,
but even in the thick of the pandemic, we saw bright, shining glimmers of
hope – thanks to you. We adjusted our adoption process to make things
completely contactless, and you kept adopting. We asked for help to
ensure our animals would receive the highest-quality care, and you
answered the call. You have done so much to enable us to make families
complete and to keep them together, and for that, we are so grateful. We
hope you will continue that support through the remainder of the year as
we work to make sure all of our animals have a home for the holidays. But

Pantera’s skin condition has healed and that she is happy and thriving with her

When this little guy came to AHS, he had a pretty bad injury on his lip. Our
medical team stitched him up, but the sutures put a lot of tension on Pop’s lip,
and pretty soon, they came out. One of our vets had a unique solution: she
brought in a button from home and attached it to Pop’s chin to relieve some
of the pressure! As you can see, Pop is now fully healed and has since been
adopted. Our Monthly Donors make these happy tails possible!

CONGRATULATIONS TO H-E-B
THE 2020 LEE B. WALKER GUARDIAN AWARD RECIPIENT
We were thrilled to present the 2020 Lee B. Walker Guardian
Award to our friends and longtime AHS supporters H-E-B!
This award is presented annually in conjunction with our
Rags to Wags Gala to an individual, organization or business
that has gone above and beyond to positively impact the
lives of animals. We believe that H-E-B exemplifies what
the Guardian Award represents, and we are so thankful for
all they have done over the past 20 years to partner with and
support the Austin Humane Society. Here’s to 20 more!
On September 25th, we hosted our third Pet Food Pantry
event and we are happy to report that we distributed
approximately 13,000 pounds of food to pet parents in
need! In total, we served 962 animals. We also handed out
hundreds of dog toys and pet bandanas generously donated
by H-E-B. This event would not have been possible without
the support of our sponsors: Heritage Ranch by H-E-B,
Hill’s Pet Nutrition, and Tomlinson’s Feed. As we work to
keep families together this holiday season, our next event
will be held on Saturday, December 5th. Since launching
the Pet Food Pantry series in May, we have distributed
more than 35,000 pounds of pet food to members of the
Austin community, thanks to your support!
