Facilities
• Crowne Plaza Tennis Center- The Crowne Plaza Tennis Resort located five
minutes from campus became home to the UNC Asheville Bulldog Tennis
Teams in 2009-10. The center has six indoor courts and six outdoor courts
which gives the Bulldogs one of the best facilities in the southeast.
• Greenwood Baseball Field- The field opened in 1988 and has a seating
capacity of 1,000. Currently, the field can only host day games due to the
absence of field lights. An agreement with the City of Asheville allows the
Bulldogs to utilize McCormick Field for several home games.
• Greenwood Soccer Field- The field opened in 1989 and has a seating capacity
of 1,000. Currently, the field can only host day games due to the absence of
field lights.
• Justice Center- The Justice Center opened in 1963 and will remain the home
for the Women’s Volleyball team with a seating capacity of 1,200.
• Kimmel Arena- The arena will open in 2011-12. This facility will have a
seating capacity of 3,200 for basketball games, and will be the new home for
Men’s and Women’s Basketball.
• Karl Straus Track- The track and field area is currently being renovated. A lack
of funding has prevented the completion of the field house which will include
storage, concessions, and restrooms.
