The Sioux Center School District motto
is “Educating the whole child for a
whole lifetime.”
The district’s enrollment between the
elementary, middle and high school
buildings for the 2020-21 school year is
1,460 students.
Construction continues at the site
of the new Sioux Center High School
building. The $42.9 million project
broke ground in August 2019 with the
building schedule to open in August
2021.
The academic portion of the building
will have 26 traditional classrooms that
can handle 600 students, with the commons,
science rooms, music rooms and
offices designed to handle 800 students
in the long-term. The building is being
constructed so that it can be readily
expanded when more space is needed
to reach that 800 capacity. The gym will
be able to seat approximately 2,000 people.
A $24.9 million special obligation bond
vote passed by 76 percent in 2019 to
financially support the project.
