The Sioux Center Public Library is

conveniently located along Highway

75, south of the post office.

The 20,000-square-foot space opened

in 2008 and includes meeting rooms, a

computer lab and art gallery, as well as

books and movies.

The present facility replaced the

former library located on First Avenue

Northeast after it was destroyed in a

July 2003 fire.

Following the fire, the library was

housed in the Sioux Center Community

Center for five years, which

was razed to make room for the new

library’s parking lot.

The library was originally established

in 1927 by a committee of Women’s

Club members in Sioux Center.

Whether you’re a first-time visitor or

regular user, the Sioux Center Public

Library wants to make patrons feel

welcome. The library has many materials

and services that people may not

know are available, and that includes

e-books, free wireless internet, online

resources and numerous children and

adult programs. It also has meeting

rooms available for public use and

is home to the Greater Sioux County

Genealogical Society research department.
