GRAYSON LAKES BOARD MEETINGS OPEN TO ALL<br />
Meetings of the <strong>Grayson</strong> <strong>Lakes</strong> Board of Directors are held the third<br />
Wednesday of every month except September. The meetings are held in<br />
the <strong>Grayson</strong> <strong>Lakes</strong> Clubhouse and start at 6:30 PM.<br />
Residents wishing to observe need only show up. Residents wishing to<br />
speak are asked to inform the Management Company at Karen@Crest-<br />
Management.com requesting to be placed on the agenda. Please do<br />
this no later than 8 days before the meeting since agendas are prepared<br />
a week in advance. If you will indicate the nature of your business<br />
beforehand, it will give the Management Company and your Board a<br />
chance to prepare for questions that might come up. Please be advised,<br />
it is your Board’s practice to limit initial comments from residents to 5<br />
minutes, so plan accordingly.<br />
ANNUAL HOLIDAY CELEBRATION & BOAT PARADE<br />
Join us for the Annual <strong>Grayson</strong> <strong>Lakes</strong> Holiday Celebration and Boat<br />
Parade in front of the Clubhouse <strong>December</strong> 6, <strong>2020</strong> at 4 PM! There will be<br />
treat bags for the kids and snacks for all. The Firetruck will take Santa for a<br />
ride around the neighborhood and back to Clubhouse outdoors.<br />
Enjoy the bright lights and decorations of our annual holiday boat parade<br />
that will follow! Boats will gather at 5:45 PM in the Lake <strong>Grayson</strong> Cove and<br />
begin parading at 6 PM when it starts getting dark.<br />
Residents will be able to view the parade from a variety of spots -<br />
backyards facing the lake, the tennis court area, the Lake <strong>Grayson</strong> Drive<br />
dock and the Recreation Center area. Typically, it takes the boats about an<br />
hour to circle the entire lake and all its coves.<br />
This event marks a unique aspect of our neighborhood. We hope to see<br />
you there!!<br />

HOW DO WE LOOK?<br />
Curb appeal has a big impact on your property value, even if your home<br />
is not for sale. Buyers evaluate the neighborhood, not just one house.<br />
Stand back from your house and take a close look to see if it needs a<br />
mini-makeover. Think about security as well. Has your shrubbery become<br />
overgrown covering windows or blocking the sidewalk? Do low-hanging<br />
limbs obscure the front? Does the lawn have brown areas or weeds? Is<br />
the siding mildewed or paint peeling? You may want to ask a friend’s<br />
opinion, it is easy to overlook things we see every day. Make plans now to<br />

who is walking by is very scary for that person. Many children are afraid of<br />

property where the dog lives, unrestrained or free-roaming dogs do pose<br />
a threat to the public. In addition, unrestrained animals are at increased<br />
risk of being bitten by rabies-infected wildlife.<br />

every step. Run or walk with the Katy ISD Education Foundation in the<br />
Katy Half Marathon/5k/1k on Saturday, February 6, 2021 to raise funds<br />
for the Inspiring Imagination teacher grant program. Last year, over 60<br />
teams and 600 runners raced to support the foundation, raising over<br />
$115,000 for Katy ISD teacher grants.<br />
The Katy ISD Education Foundation celebrated a spectacular milestone<br />
this year with over $2 million awarded in its first eight years of Inspiring<br />
Imagination teacher grants. Reason2Race and its proceeds play a key role<br />
in reaching milestones such as this and will continue to garner support as<br />

HOUSTON ASTROS ALEX BREGMAN CHARITY<br />
DONATES IPADS TO KATY ISD<br />
It was a day to remember for many Katy Independent School District<br />
students, who had a visit from Houston Astros third baseman and<br />
shortstop Alex Bregman and the school received brand new iPads,<br />
courtesy of the Bregman Cares Charity. Four Katy ISD schools, including<br />
Leonard, McRoberts, Griffin and Stephens elementary schools, welcomed<br />
the baseball player to their campus for the donation, all while practicing<br />
COVID-19 safety protocols.<br />
“It feels great to see their smiles,” said Houston Astros Alex Bregman.<br />
“Schools are doing a great job of keeping students safe and also helping<br />
them learn. Katy ISD has done a great job in these tough times and is<br />
helping the kids through their learning. It’s been great to be able to hand<br />
out iPads today,” added Bregman.<br />
The Bregman Cares mission is to provide awareness, support, time and<br />
resources to children locally and throughout the country. For the past<br />
few years, the organization has focused on donating technology devices<br />
and educational resources for students.<br />
KATY ISD PROVIDING FREE MEALS<br />
TO ALL KATY AREA STUDENTS<br />
Through an extended waiver from the U.S. Department of Agriculture<br />
(USDA) and Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA), Katy ISD began<br />
providing free meals to all Katy area students on Monday, September<br />
21 st . Students can receive breakfast and lunch at no cost through<br />
<strong>December</strong> 31 st or pending available funds through the USDA and TDA.<br />
“All students are eligible for one breakfast and one lunch meal per day per<br />
federal guidance,” said Nutrition & Food Service Executive Director Donna<br />
Pittenger. “Parents can however add funds to their student’s Pay N’ Go<br />
meal account for a la carte purchases or in preparation for when the<br />
USDA waiver ends,” added Pittenger.<br />
For students participating in Katy ISD virtual instruction, as well as<br />
children 18 and under not enrolled in Katy ISD, breakfast and lunch can<br />
be picked up at designated school curbside distribution sites from 4 to<br />
6 PM, Monday through Friday. Meals are packaged to be heated and<br />
eaten at home and are to be picked up a day before the intended use.<br />
Distribution sites include:<br />
· Cinco Ranch High School, 23440 Cinco Ranch Blvd, Katy, TX 77494<br />
· Mayde Creek High School, 19202 Groeschke Road, Katy, TX 77084<br />
· Morton Ranch High School, 21000 Franz Road, Katy, TX 77449<br />
The TDA policy now requires parents picking up meals, without a<br />
student, to present one of the following forms of documentation for<br />
each child: an official letter, email, electronic school application, student<br />
report card, student ID card, attendance records with student’s names<br />
or a birth certificate. Once the waiver expires, Katy ISD will switch back<br />
to the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program. Free and reduced<br />
meal applications must still be submitted for the <strong>2020</strong>-2021 school year<br />
to determine benefits after the waiver ends. Parents can visit schoolcafe.<br />

4 ounces cream cheese, softened<br />
1 tablespoon milk<br />
1 tablespoon white sugar<br />
1 1/2 cups frozen whipped topping, thawed<br />
1 (9 inch) prepared graham cracker crust<br />
1 cup cold milk<br />
2 (3.5 ounce) packages instant vanilla pudding mix<br />
1 (15 ounce) can solid pack pumpkin puree<br />
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon<br />
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger<br />
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves<br />
DIRECTIONS:<br />
In a large bowl, whisk together cream cheese, 1 tablespoon of<br />
milk and sugar until smooth. Gently stir in whipped topping.<br />
Spread into bottom of crust. Pour 1 cup of milk into large bowl<br />
and thoroughly mix in pudding mix, pumpkin, cinnamon, ginger<br />
and cloves. When thickened, spread over cream cheese layer.<br />
Refrigerate 4 hours or until set.<br />
