ANNUAL ABERDEEN GREEN COOKIES WITH SANTA
Santa and his helpers will be giving out Hot Cocoa and Cookies on Saturday, December
19, 2020 from 10 AM until 12 PM. There will be snow flurries and Christmas Carols at the
park near the pool. Stop by and get a snap shot with Santa. Have a blessed and safe Merry
Christmas and Happy New Year.
ABERDEEN GREEN HOLIDAY LIGHT CONTEST
“It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas everywhere you go. The prettiest sight to see is
the holly that will be on your own front door.” The neighborhood will be judging to find the
houses with the most holiday cheer. The top three houses will get a prize. We can’t wait to
see all the Christmas spirit throughout the neighborhood.
WCA TRASH AND RECYCLING
Aberdeen Green has a trash can sticker policy. Only cans that have a sticker facing the street
will be picked up. Bills will be mailed quarterly and there will be a new colored sticker that
will come in the mail after the bill has been paid. Trash bags left at the curb without a trash
can with valid sticker will not be picked up. Recycling will be picked up on Thursdays but
only when the sticker on the trash can is visible. Any questions can be directed to WCA Waste
at 281-368-8397.
INSPECTION DRIVES
Let’s keep the neighborhood looking nice. Please maintain regular mowing, maintenance
of yards and flowerbeds, mold removal from siding and keep your lot free of clutter. Please
also remember to remove your trash can for storage out of public view after trash collection.
If you have additional questions, all governing documents can be found at SpectrumAM.
com under the tab community info and documents. Your Spectrum Site Manager will be
performing inspections twice monthly.
STREETLIGHTS
Please report any lights that are out, blinking
or on during the day. Part of your annual
Homeowners fee pays for your streetlights,
whether they work or not. If a light is out in your
area, please call 713-207-2222 or go to www.
centerpointenergy.com/outage and report it.
Each light pole should have a 6-digit number
on it. When reporting the light, you will need
to provide the pole number and closest
intersection or address. We want all our lights
to work… a well lit area is a safe area!

If you place signs in and around the
neighborhood for Garage Sales, Lost Pets, etc.,
please make sure you remove them in a timely
manner. Remember that postal boxes are the
property of the USPS and it is a crime to attach
anything to the cluster mailboxes! Please help
to keep Aberdeen Green looking beautiful!

As a reminder, the Association has a patrol
contract through Harris County Precinct 5
Constable. We share 40 hours of patrol per
week at random times with Aberdeen Trail HOA.

home in case you need support in a non-lifethreatening
situation.
Their non-emergency dispatch number is 281-
463-6666. If you see vandalism or anything
suspicious please contact the dispatch
number as well as Spectrum Management.

there are pet owners not following the rules of the community when it
comes to pet etiquette. Please, be aware and make a conscious effort to

Albion Hurricanes FC (AHFC) is having supplemental evaluations for all
interested players 7 to 12 years of age in December. AHFC has multiple

CROWNED MISS TEEN TELUGU UNIVERSE
Langham Creek High School sophomore Nitya Kodali was crowned
Miss Teen Telugu Universe 2020. The international pageant consisted
of finalists from more than 40 countries including India, Canada, New
Zealand, Australia, Dubai and the United Kingdom, as the cultural event
took place in collaboration with more than 100 organizations and 18,000
participants.
A jury panel declared Kodali the winner and she was officially crowned
Oct. 3. The pageant’s vision and goal is to nurture, promote and advance
Telugu culture in young women across the world. It consisted of multiple
rounds, including Telugu speaking, question and answer and talent.
Kodali was among 22 finalists chosen from more than 700 semifinalists to
compete in the grand finals representing her Indian Telugu community
despite being one of the pageant’s youngest contestants at 15 years old.
“I was in complete shock when they announced my name at the pageant,”
Kodali said. “This was my first time competing in a pageant and it is
honestly a dream come true to be honored with such a prestigious title.
My journey to the crown has certainly been unforgettable and required
lots of hard work.”
Kodali has added more successful pageant experience, winning titles
of Miss Yuvarani USA and Miss International Congeniality following the
initial crown.
Kodali actively participates in HOSA - Future Health Professionals and
Science Olympiad at Langham Creek. She volunteers at Houston’s local
Telugu school as a teacher to help promote her language and culture. In
addition, she is the founder, director and CEO of Letters & Love, a studentled
volunteer organization dedicated to spreading positivity across the
world through letters.
“Pageants are a wonderful opportunity for self-development and
confidence,” Kodali said. “You meet wonderful people along the way
and truly foster beautiful connections. Telugu culture has always been a
strong part of my identity and I am immensely grateful to represent the
Telugu community across the globe as the world’s first-ever Miss Teen
Telugu Universe.”

The free virtual production of A Christmas Carol, presented by
ConocoPhillips, is a gift to the entire Houston area, December 4 th -27 th .
A highly inventive, digital adaptation of the Dickens classic, pared down
to its essential elements. A resident company of actors assemble online
to perform a new production of the heartwarming Christmas story. With
everyone performing from home, creating a magical world of holiday
make-believe is no easy feat.
The socially distanced troupe brings this holiday classic to imaginative
new heights. It will be A Christmas Carol like no other. This year, our
digital performance of A Christmas Carol is free to all Houstonians. Please
