WEBSITE
Hearthstone Board is excited to announce that Hearthstone HOA has partnered with
a technology company NabrNetwork to bring to you Townsquare, which has been
selected as our official, Board-approved communication tool/website for Hearthstone
HOA! Accessible via mobile phone, tablet and desktop - and completely private. A
Townsquare welcome letter was recently sent out to all homeowners. If you didn’t
receive the letter please follow these steps to sign up.
1. Access townsquare at https://inframarkims.com/what-we-do/associationmanagement/
2. Click on townsquare in the right-side menu
3. Confirm your zip code and select “I live in Hearthstone HOA”
4. Select “I am an owner”
5. Enter your unique Account Number
If you don’t have your account number please call 281-870-0585 or email Katie.Ivanics@
Inframark.com to assist. Please note moving forward this will be the new website and
the old Hearthstone website will no longer be used.
MESSAGE TO ALL
HEARTHSTONE RESIDENTS FROM
THE HEARTHSTONE COUNTRY CLUB
Incidents of trespassing on the golf course have recently
had a dramatic increase. Accordingly, the club has
posted new signs at all areas of access that address the
trespassing issue. No one, whether members or nonmembers
are to be on the club property at any time,
day or evening, unless you are registered with the Pro
shop. No walking or jogging, no dog walking, no bike
riding, no fishing. The club has asked the Constables to
assist in the enforcement of this violation. Please be a
good neighbor and respect the club’s property.
GOLF CART OPERATORS
IN HEARTHSTONE:
Parents, please remember that all operators of golf carts
on both public streets and at the Hearthstone Country
Club must be at least 16 years old and have a valid TX
Operators license. We have recently noticed many
underage operators driving through the community.
Underage drivers subject both themselves and their
parents to citation by the Harris County Constables
Office. Should an underage driver cause any damage to
a person or property, most insurance companies will not
cover the loss leaving the parents open to civil litigation.
Please parents, if your child is underage and operating
your golf cart, ask them to stop. If our Constable on
patrol continues to observe underage drivers she/he
will have no choice but to stop the driver and call the
parents. Let’s take care of this issue on our own. Thanks!
LEASH LAW REMINDER:
Please be mindful of the Harris County Leash Law
and be certain that your pets are on a leash when not
confined to your home or backyard.
HEARTHSTONE YARD OF THE MONTH
November is here and it is time to be thankful, grateful and hopeful as we enter a season
of celebration and gratitude. With all the challenges of 2020, we are so grateful for our
neighborhood and wonderful neighbors. This month we are especially thankful for our
November Yard of the Month winners, Stacy and John Faecher at 14818 Avila Bend Dr.
in the Betty Brown section of Hearthstone.
Large live oaks provide some late autumn shade for gloriously bright and heathy cora
vinca blooms, foxtail ferns, birds of paradise, variegated ginger and more. It is worth
the trip into the Betty Brown section to view this yard that celebrates the season with
abundance and joy.

STOP THAT BARKING
Many dogs left alone all day get lonely, bored and
restless. Many find relief in barking. Some respond
noisily to any and all activity. But, nothing is as annoying
as incessant barking - even for dog lovers. If your dog
is a yapper or a yowler, please consider some of these
bark-abatement ideas to keep the noise down in your
area. Your neighbors will thank you!
• Training. Always the first recommendation for any
behavioral problem! Help is as close as the Yellow Pages.
Training not only helps your dog, you’ll be surprised how
much it helps you, too. You may get some insight into why
your dog barks so much or what it is trying to communicate.
• Citronella collars. A humane alternative to the electricshock,
anti-barking collar and costs about the same.
Available on the web and in pet stores.
• Confinement. Sometimes simply bringing an
outspoken dog indoors or confining it to a crate can cut
down on the disturbance to neighbors.
• For inside dogs, reduce stimulus. Close drapes to help
muffle street noise or leave a radio on to mask it.
• Companionship. Dogs are pack animals; they need
companionship - a cat, bird or another dog. Consider a midday
visit from a pet-sitting service or drop your pooch off at
a friend’s place or a day-care facility once or twice a week.
Keep in mind that dogs who bark from loneliness or boredom,
may not do it when you are home. Meanwhile, your neighbors
may be getting serenaded while you are away.
December 2020 | Hearthstone
LOST & FOUND PETS IN HEARTHSTONE
Folks in Hearthstone are very helpful in getting lost pets reunited with
their owners, but all dog owners should ensure that there is a tag on each
dog with their name, address and phone number. Local pet stores have
machines that make tags like this while you wait. At least that would help
found dogs get back home quicker and with less trauma.
DO’S AND DON’TS OF DEED RESTRICTIONS
Deed restrictions or often called “restrictive covenants” (especially in
the context of homeowners associations) are restrictions contained in
incorporating documents that limit how a property can be used or what
can be built on it. Subdivision developers create these restrictions in
order to keep size, quality and nature of housing consistent in an effort to
maintain market value of the subdivision.

ALL TYPES OF
ROOFING REPAIRS
For the most part, Hearthstone residents abide by our deed restrictions.
Yards are kept clean and neat. Home exteriors are washed and unsightly
mold is removed. Our neighbors file the required ACC forms when making
changes to their home exteriors or adding a room or other structure.
Trailers are not parked in driveways or on the street for extended periods
of time and commercial vehicles are kept in garages.
However, there are always a few who, from time to time forget or are
not well informed about to do’s and don’ts of our deed restrictions. We
need your help. We need everyone to follow the deed restrictions. If you
aren’t familiar with them, they can be found in the documents section
of our website. If you’re not sure, call the management company. Our
management company inspects the community once a month checking
for violations. There are times when they will miss something. If you have
a neighbor who is a continuing violator, call the management company. If
you want to remain anonymous call Katie Ivanics directly and let her know.
Moving forward, the Board has instructed the management company
to continue to inspect closely for violations and follow up with notices
allowed by law.
1) The first notice is a courtesy letter.
2) If the violation is not cured within 30 days a second letter is sent.
3) If the violation continues another 30 days it is referred to our attorney
and a third letter is sent. The attorney letter results in a $302.50 charge to
the homeowners account.
4) Continuing violations and/or non-payment of a homeowners account
can lead to a notice of foreclosure.
For the good of all of our homeowners in Hearthstone, let’s keep our
community clean and neat. Thanks to all of you who already abide by
the rules and thanks in advance to those few who will strive to do better!

HEARTHSTONE STREETLIGHTS
The Hearthstone HOA coordinates maintenance of all the streetlights
throughout the community. This includes the “cobra head” lights like
you see along many streets and highways, as well as the decorative light
poles along Huffmeister and in some of the neighborhoods.
Cobra head streetlights need to be reported to CenterPoint, using the
pole number, which is the “address” for the light. It is a six digit number
facing the street. You can report streetlights that are not working or
staying on during the day at http://cnp.centerpointenergy.com/outage
(Google streetlight outage) or give us the pole number and we will do
it for you.
Outages or problems with decorative streetlights should be reported to
Inframark at 281-870-0585. Please note the exact intersection or closest
address. The association has a contractor doing a monthly nighttime
inspection for lights that are out, but if you see a problem, please report
it, so we can achieve our goal to keep all the lights on all the time.
TRASH DAYS
Trash days are Tuesdays and Fridays with recycling pickup on Fridays. If
you have questions, call 281-368-8397.
BOARD MEETING
Board Meetings are now bi-monthly, usually on the 3 rd Wednesday at 6
PM. Hearthstone Country Club.

HEARTHSTONE EXTERIOR MODIFICATIONS
When making any changes to the exterior of your home, please keep
in mind that you must first submit an application and receive written
approval. An application can be obtained by sending a request to
customercare@inframark.com.
The call center main number is 281-870-0585. The hours are 7 AM to 6 PM
Monday through Thursday and 7 AM to 5 PM on Fridays.
SAFETY TIPS - AVOID BEING A VICTIM
1. Call the constable’s office anytime you see a suspicious person and do
not let race, age or gender influence you calling (a suspicious person is
anyone you do not recognize on your street).
2. Call the constable’s office when you see a suspicious vehicle (any
vehicle parked in front of your neighbor’s home or driving around your
street that you don’t recognize).
3. Always keep all your doors and windows locked even when you are at
home.
4. Always keep your overhead garage door in the down position.
5. Remember neighbors looking out for neighbors are how the police
catch the bad guys.
6. Make sure to do a vacation watch whenever you go out of town.
7. If someone comes to your door, always go to the door and acknowledge
6
December 2020 | Hearthstone
that you are there and remember to never open the door for anyone that
you do not know. The bad guys in almost all cases do not want you to be
home. Then always call the constable’s office so that we can check them
out. When they leave your house, they are going to your neighbors.
8. If you have children that stay at home alone, no matter what their age,
they need to go to the door and have a preplanned story for whoever is
there (my dad is working on the computer, he says to come back later).
Then have them call the constable’s office.
9. Never do business with people you don not know and trust. Never
open the door for solicitors. If no one in the neighborhood buys anything
from them, the companies that they work for will quit sending them into
your subdivision.
10. Always lock your vehicles and never leave anything of value in plain
sight (covering up an item with a jacket doesn’t count).
Our dispatch number is 281-463-6666 (please put this number in your
cell phone as 911 constable or A constable so that it is one of the first
contacts).

SAM HOUSTON AREA COUNCIL
BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA
FAMILY FOCUSED. VALUE DRIVEN. Cub Scouting is a year-round program
uniquely designed to meet the needs of young boys & girls (kindergarten
through fifth grade) and their families. The program offers fun and
challenging activities that promote character development and physical
fitness. Family involvement is an essential part of the program and parents
are encouraged to play an active role. Cub Scouting helps parents make
the most of the short time they have to impact the lives of their children.
SOME KIDS AVOID OBSTACLES. SCOUTS OVERCOME THEM. Scouts BSA is a
year-round program for boys and girls in fifth grade through high school
that provides fun, adventure, learning, challenge and responsibility to
14
help them become the best version of themselves. In Scouts BSA, young
men and women go places, test themselves and have one-of-a-kind
adventures that can’t be found anywhere else. There is something for
everyone in Scouting!
New scouting units are starting in your community right now. Come
join an adventure of a lifetime in Scouting. For more information, please

BOY SCOUT TROOP 609
Boy Scout Troop 609 is a specialized for Boys with high functioning
Autism Spectrum Disorders. They meet at the Westview School on the 1 st
and 3 rd Saturday of the month from 9:30-11:30 AM.
BOY SCOUT TROOP 838
Troop 838 is a small pack located near Hwy 6 and West Road at the
Crossbridges Church. We are between the Copperfield and Aberdeen
neighborhoods. Being a smaller troop allows us to be flexible and address
the needs of our scouts more nimbly. We currently have boys from ages
11 to 17 within our group working to make Eagle.
We try to camp monthly, with a wide variety of locations on our agenda.
The different locations are chosen by the senior boys to more directly
meet our training needs and to keep expenses low. In fact, we have some
of the lowest expenses in the area.
Our adult leaders are all experienced with years of scouting under their
belt per individual. We also work closely with several local packs of cub
scouts and participate in civic duties around the area as well. Please
contact us at TROOP838CYPRESS.ORG or 414-331-3321.
TROOP 1865
Troop 1865 runs a diverse program of outdoor and service activities,
with events selected by the scouts themselves. We meet Mondays at 6:30
PM, at the Copperfield HOA building on Willow River and Hwy 6, behind
Labay. We’ve gone backpacking through the National Forest, rappelling
off Enchanted Rock, Survival camping, boating, canoeing and anything
else the scouts can dream up. We do high-adventure camping at Philmont
and Seabase. Our advancement program has enabled scout to achieve
the coveted rank of Eagle Scout at 10 times the national average rate.
We see scouting as a practice run on adult life. Scouts learn about
leadership and teamwork through having to work together in the field.
We learn about responsibility through fund-raising activities that have
allowed the entire troop to pay for their own summer camp each year.

BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA -
COPPERHEAD DISTRICT
For 100 years, Scouting programs have instilled in youth the values found
in the Scout Oath and Scout Law. Today, these values are just as relevant in
helping youth grow to their full potential as they were in 1910. Scouting
helps youth develop academic skills, self-confidence, ethics, leadership
skills, outdoor skills and citizenship skills that influence their adult lives.
The Boy Scouts of America provides youth with programs and activities
that allow them to:
• Try new things.
• Provide service to others.
• Build self-confidence.
• Reinforce ethical standards.
Scouting provides youth with a sense that they are important as
individuals while promoting activities that lead to personal responsibility
and high self-esteem. As a result, when hard decisions have to be made,
peer pressure can be resisted and the right choices can be made.
Scouting provides a rewarding experience for boys ages 5 to 21. Scouting
through the local Packs and Troops teach outdoor and life skills which
help our youth Be Prepared. Your area is serviced by the BSA Sam Houston
Area Counsel - Copperhead District which includes 23 Cub Scout Packs
(boys 5 to 10 years old), 13 Troops (boys from 11 to 18 years old) and 10
Venturing units (boys and girls from 14 to 21). Our Units typically meet
weekly.
Many of our units are supported by the local Elementary Schools
including: Birkes, Copeland, Duryea, Fiest, Hemmingway, Holmsley,
Horne, Jowell, Lowery, Metcalf, Owens, Postma, Robinson, Sheridan,
Tipps, Walker and Wilson.
Other Community groups include: Autumn Creek Baptist Church,
Beck and Masten Automotive, Cornerstone United Methodist Church,
Copperfield Church, Crossbridge Church, Cy-Fair Kiwanis Club, Deerfield
Village HOA, LDS Bear Creek and Copperfield Wards, Middlegate Village
